If it's useful to anyone :] assignments: - fill a sketch page with proportion experimentations - fill a sketch page by experimenting with drawing characters using repeating shapes, symbols, and patterns - using at least 2 characters with different personalities, explore what their expressions/body language is like in different scenarios - draw a day in your character's life in outfits and accessories, and/or special occasion outfits - draw 3 different character interactions

this is the first time i actually understood why shape language is important, like most people always say use shapes and like you dont understand why, but i loved how you showed it not just by "look a square" but with the 3 spikes for example or the fringe/bow shape

Not usually early, but I'm so thankful you've released this just now!!! I was in a bit of a pickle with my OC's redesign, and this will surely be VERY helpful!!!! ❤ Thank you so much for working hard every time you post, it helps a lot of people like me !!!!

OMG this is the exact problem I have, every character I draw I subconsciously give them realistic proportions because everything else I try just feels "wrong" but I know that doing so will benefit my designs. Thank you so much for this vid!

This is the best most effective series i've watched and i love the assignemnets its such an engaging thing to get you in the creative state. Maybe its just a me problem but this did what tons of videos throughout the years couldn't for me. This video covered many many topics together so i dont have to fish for videos, it was concise, it used lots of examples from popular media and the creator's own ocs, its very expansive and yet brief but effective! Great work.

This is one of the best character design tutorials that I have ever watched! Everything is put in an easily digestible way, and the examples you use are also very interesting — especially when you drew the characters yourself. It made me so invested in the lesson that I hadn’t even realized the video was a full hour! Great job, and thank you for making this free to watch and accessible to people who want to learn! ❤❤
