  • Dude....I love your video, no music not much talking ...just good solid info/instruction. I wish other youtubers would watch and learn how you present your videos. A real mechanic only needs to see what needs to be done without any "crap", just info!!! Thanks from Texas

Thank you again! second time I used your video, first time was a few years again then the unit broke again and had to be changed out! really appreciate it!

very good as the mechanics is beautiful ... perfect explanation

This video makes it look a little easier than it really is for getting at the actuator, but very useful.

Love your videos, thank you! 2005 Odyssey that is ice cold a/c but after driving on highway, all airflow in the dash stops. Fan is running and rear a/c is working fine. It's like a door closed by force. Both sides work fine until then. No heat/ a/c issues like a blend, just no air movement. Cabin filter clean, blower motor is great. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Before you uninstalled the old actuator, what temp setting did you set it at before removing it ? All the way cold or hot ? Thanks in advance and thanks for the video.

Thanks so much for the video. Question -- Can you actually see the actuator working by just looking at it under the dash to figure out of it's broken and needs replacing? Thanks!
  • Thanks for this concise video. I'm thinking about replacing my blend motor actuator in my 2016 Odyssey. The 2 blowers on the drivers side only blow cool air while the passenger side vents blow hot air. The other big clue was a loud ticking/grinding coming from the drivers side actuator. I removed it today and cleaned it out the best I could and reinstalled it but it still grinds when the heat is turned up past "81". The grinding is happening (visually) when the actuator arm reaches the bottom of the plastic track. If the heat is turned higher that, the arm tries but has no where to go and the added tension (I assume) is what causes the actuator internal gears to grind. Based on what I'm describing - does it seem likely that replacing the actuator will solve this problem? Or Could it be something related to that plastic track the actuator slides into? Or a passenger side actuator?

Thanks for sharing this video. It is very useful! I am all ready to go to replace this actuator on my 2009 Odyssey tomorrow, but I have a question for you: What kind of grease to use for the those pegs when they slide inside the white moving part? Lithium grease? Teflon grease? I wonder what type of grease did the manufacturer use? Thanks.

Mine is a 2010 Honda Odyssey. Both center vents are not opening and the floor vents are not opening. The defrost is working fine and both side vents are working fine. The blower motor seems to be working great and adjusts from low to high without issue. The rare air conditioner and heaters seems to be working great. I believe it's the actuator. What I have to replace both of them?
  • @advilshenk
My 2013 honda pilot's air is stuck on vents. It won't switch to the floor or defrost. Is this part in your video the same part # to the one I need(main mode actuator the controls the defrost vent floor)? Thanks
  • @shaneseglin2985
My cold air gets to all vents flawlessly. My heat blows fire hot on all front vents, but zero heat to back vents. Do you think this repair would help my situation? Thanks!

@MrRangerZr1 I have a 2009 honda odyssey E-xl model and my mode button on the climate control panel is not working properly. I only have the air blowing out of my front dashboard panels. no air flow coming from the defrost section and no air from under steering wheel/ passenger side ( by the feet. ). Heat and ac both work just fine. Seems like an actuator problem (because its an airflow issue) but which one would it be ? The actuator under the steering wheel as shown in this video ? Or would it be the passenger side one located behind the glove box ?
  • @TheBatman559
Mr.Ranger my 2007 Honda Odyssey heater started to acting up today...I have hot air coming out the passanger side but not the driver side vents and defrost aswell... Any clues??

When I turned on the circulation, the actuator was kind of clicking back and forth. Does that mean it was not working? I sprayed some silicone on it and it turned once but then wouldn't turn again even after I kept turning the circulation and AC on and off. Is that puppy dead?
