Airline: Air France
Flight: AF65
Aircraft: Airbus A380-800 F-HPJH
From: Los Angeles (LAX)
To: Paris (CDG)
Departure: 17:27
Arrival: 12:37
Flight Time: 10:10
Seat: 93L
Flight Path: infl.it/af65

Our flight today begins with a short drive into Los Angeles International Airport. We stop briefly at the In-n-Out Burger to watch the planes landing, before making our way to the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT).

We check in at the Air France area and then make our way to the TSA Security checkpoint. From there we head airside towards our gate where our aircraft is waiting - the huge Airbus A380 that will take us across the Atlantic this evening.

We suffer a delay of around an hour due to a specific security threat that has been received to our flight. We have to wait while FBI sniffer dogs search the aircraft, but thankfully nothing is found and we’re able to eventually board. We take the escalator to the second floor to be able to board the upper deck of the huge A380. We board through the forward doors making our way through the aircraft’s business class and premium economy to our section of economy at the rear of the aircraft, taking our seat in seat 93L.

We soon begin our pushback as the sun sets over California, and taxi out with a police escort to runway 24L. We make a beautiful departure into the sunset getting a stunning view of Los Angeles lit up below. We make our way across the US towards Canada under darkness, getting views of many major cities. We cross the coast into the Atlantic just north of Labrador City, Canada, before passing to the south of Greenland where the sun rises.

We get some great views of the contrails forming as we cruise at a level of 39,000ft towards Ireland. We cross the Irish Sea towards South Wales, making a left turn towards London before turning right and crossing the English Channel towards France.
We commence our descent into a rainy Paris, saying goodbye to the beautiful weather above the clouds and hello to a gloomy rainy day. We make a trademark hard landing on runway 26L at Charles-de-Gaulle. We taxi into the beautiful Terminal 2E before disembarking and making our way towards flight connections for our onward flight back to the UK.

This is the type of video where you either get it or you don’t. For a specific subset of us, this is awesome. I always love the hustle and bustle of breakfast and sunrise on a long haul. Everyone while in a zombie-like status decides at the same time that “yes, as a matter of fact I would like a warm towelette and orange juice in a small, difficult to open cup shaped container”
  • @samedilce
Imagine thinking that you are recording an almost 12 hour video but you forgot to press the record button

Mom: you can watch only one video then go sleep Me: ok mom just this one
  • @ckxrs2645
nothing beats seeing a sky of darkness turn into daylight while on a plane.
  • So, 1 million people sat on their couch grabbed some popcorn and watched this for 10 hours?
  • @gtafrenzy
37:40 that sound the engine makes when it growls just makes me so excited. Always nice to hear that sound
  • @jmcurtisjr7615
i love how its not just the flight he records, but the experience, like what he does before and after the flight

  • I have major insomnia but when I watch these videos I'm asleep within 30 min. The hum of the engines (white noise) to me is so relaxing. It makes me feel like I'm back on my flight to Australia and how well I slept on it. Plus, THANK YOU for not adding commercials in the middle. There is nothing worse than being woken up by a person wanting me to buy some drug.
  • @spicyxmojo
This is just a time stamp for myself to use whenever I want to sleep. Feel free to use it🙂 11:07

I like this video, I will get to fly pretty soon a very long flight, but I have never been on plane before, and it is quite scary that I will be in the air for like 12 hours. So I watch videos like this to help yourself realize that flying is pretty cool and fun. Thank you posting this!
  • @ncommon3378
It may not be the same exact a380, but I sat in those exact seats on a flight from ATL to CDG in 2019. Every time I watch a video like this I get excited because it reminds me of the days when I get to travel to France and see my family. Hearing the announcements, the engine roar, and the rolling of suitcases on the tile floors are amount some of my favorite noises.

I have fallen asleep to this many times. The dark, quiet mid-flight hum. It makes me remember countless long haul flights for work. The high pressure of urgent deadlines, tense meetings, and working in hotels combined with all the stress of travel. With this video I can stretch my legs out completely at home and heal my physical memories of the cramped seats, stale air, bland travel sized food in plastic containers, blur of airport concourses, uber rides to hotels while fighting jet lag, and living out of a suitcase. Listening to this in my giant bed has definitely cured some cramped years of trauma. Travel for work seems romantic, but it fades fast when you live your whole life in airports and hotels, year after year. Even the big cities become a blur as you never really set up roots anywhere - just from meetings to hotels to airports. Long-term relationships are nearly impossible. The miles wear on you. Covid has finally proved 90% of this was unnecessary. It brought the blessings of work from home and much less completely unnecessary work travel. I for one will not miss it - I got out. I look forward to sleeping at home, after work time with friends, and traveling for fun from now on. Work flights are a thing of my past.

I adore cabin sound with a passion. Most relaxing wonderful sound ever for me. Airplanes, airports and anything to do with them I love.
