Yeah, this was live. Barbra actually co-wrote this song with Paul Williams, and was the first woman to won a Oscar for Best Original Song. A Star is Born is a tale as old as time. The original was made in 1937. The first remake was made in 1954, starring Judy Garland (Dorothy from the OG "The Wizard of Oz"). Barbra's version came in 1976 and, recently, Gaga and Bradley's remake. Btw the original was inspired by an even older movie called What Price Hollywood, from 1932!

A Star is Born has been done 4 times. The first was in the the late 30's or 40's. Judy Garland was in the 2nd and Barbra Streisand/Kris Kristopherson in the 3rd, done in the 70's or early 80's. You might know Barbra from the movie Meet the Fockers. She started her career singing and then branched out into movies, mostly in comedic roles and adaptations of Broadway musicals: Hello DOLLY, Funny Girl. She has done some dramatic roles as well. Barbra also directs movies. Multi talented, a legend. One of the best female vocalists of all times.
