Sleeping Dogs: How to beat Death by 1000 cuts WITHOUT upgrades

Even better yet, just do nothing but hide in that one spot where enemies don't attack and throw the poison knives the thugs drop at them with space bar. Each enemy you successfully hit will be insta-killed, and enemies can't kill you on that one bit of the map. Every time you kill an enemy, just sprint to their corpse,  loot back their knife, sprint back to position, and keep throwing. Enemies have a hard time hitting you when you're sprinting and I did the whole mission without being poisoned and with full health.

Stuck on that for over an hour. Never thought I was going to do it. First time after watching this. Thank you

I completed this mission by standing in that square and attacking one enemy with heavy hit with my knife. After each heavy hit I was running back into the square. When you have lots of knives on the ground you can start throwing them.

You are a goddamn savior. I was at this all fucking night and had to stop because i was an ass hair away from throwing my xbox 1 out the fucking window. Soon as i saw this beat ot first try. Previously i could only get up to about 17 kills. Thanks so fucking much for sharing this

Shouts out from Definitive Edition in 2021! This is a great video, an awesome strat, and I wish I had watched it before forcing myself into 38 deaths attempting to beat this horrible, straight rage-fuel of a side "mission". I finally got it by spending the 1st half smacking the dudes in the face (desperately trying not to get hit) and the 2nd half running around at Wei's top speed, picking up knives on the go, then turning and pitching them back into the crowd of enemies counting on auto-aim to get kills. It was ugly. Yours was so clean. Nice to know that there's an easier way and that I'm not the only one who hates this disgusting mission.

Oh. My. God! Thank you dude! Got it first try using this magical little square after countless of deaths with the "oh just throw knives" strat. You saved my controller from being thrown against a wall!

My advice to you all: DO NOT throw your golden cleaver! It’s the only knife that cannot break after being used too long. Hide back in the square shown in the video. Use the enemies knives against them by throwing them at ‘em. It’s an insta-kill basically.

Man I tried about 50 times and could not do it. Then came across this video and did it first time. Guys be patient the box works amazing on the PS4 even got sliced once and still didn't die. Go for the small guys and the ones that are isolated near the box. Thank you so much for this video. Awesome.
