  • ghost leviathans dont stop growing so they can be ten times the size of your cyclops or even two times larger than the aurora shivers

i understand that the reaper is the smallest of the 3 carnivore leviathans, but it is hands down the scariest
  • When I was in my Seamoth, I was behind the Aurora, and being chased by a bunch of Reapers, then I went quite a bit away, and I thought I was safe. I was at the surface, and when I looked down, I saw one of these beasts. My Seamoth was flung about 15 meters into the air OUT of the water, and my Seamoth wasn't fast enough to outrun it and it blew up. I, was then left with just my Seaglide. I then became Seafood.

I mean, they look and sound terrifying, but you gotta admit there’s something strangely beautiful about seeing those three glowing adults swimming all around you as the only light in the dark empty void.

I have no chance at this game. I get scared when it turns night in the safe shallows

“Ghost Leviathan is the biggest and scariest” Gargantuan Leviathan: “ Hold my Cyclops “

I doubt anyone will read this but in case you do, here's a story about my "pet" ghost leviathan: So, I was trying to find the wreck in the blood kelp zone (I was in the wrong one anyways) and found the edge of the map (where it goes steep down). I didn't know and just kept exploring. Got a new entry in the PDA and started reading. Got to the part where it said "the crater supports only two kinds of life: microscopic, and leviathan class". In that moment I heard a loud roar and saw TWO ghost leviathans charging towards me. I escaped with 53 hull integraty on the seamoth. The best part: one of the leviathans apperantly continued to follow me, then bugged out and is now roaming the entrance to my base I built in the blood kelp zone. Great fun.
  • I'd give real life me 20 seconds on this planet before something chews my torso off
  • Aren’t these the largest predators? They never stop growing so they could in theory be hiding far out on the planet.

I remember seeing a movie call “Ghost Shark,” I think. And now I can only imagine a ghost leviathan jumping out of a sink. I thing I could just go through anything with water. Imagine a grown one jumping out of a pool, then just eating your date
  • @CuppaTeaExe
Ghost leviathans honestly are not that scary (Even my first reaction was dull) They are pretty easy to kill with a knife and a stasis rifle. However, the adults, are a different story
  • I actually cant play Subnautica the right way. Always if i dont see the ground im scared, im in the Void.

These are my favourite of the big swimmy boys.
  • @MonumiaDub
An alternative (and marginally more terrifying) theory to the size of the ghost eggs is that they hatch in large groups, similar to fish like salmon. Imagine you're just chilling by the cove tree and one day that egg bursts open with 20-30 ghost leviathans coming out of it.
  • Ghost Leviathans migrate to the dead zone because they cant stop growing. thats why there is no adults in the lost river. the adults you encounter in the game arent even the largest in the game. that is a scary thought. Edit: oh my god I’ve never gotten this many likes before thanks guys
  • @doritoman1785
Bold of you to assume im brave enough to explore anything outside the safe shallows! Edit: this was made awhile ago and I'm proud to say I've beaten the game! Edit 2 :Electric Boogaloo Idk hi just wanted to say hello Ok bye
  • @Cynx210
I love how in the rocket ending you can see the end of the planet but there is literally an enormous (maybe infinite) drop with no end and you can also find that the ‘land’ that you were on is just a large chunk of earth..
