The LEGO NASA Artemis Space Launch System is an insane product, the biggest space related LEGO set ever and one that comes at a cost... And I'm not talking about the price...

You often bring up repetitivity as a highly negative aspect of LEGO sets. But I really think that to achieve structures like this one it's absolutely unavoidable

I dont understand the hate about the black boxes, I love them! So stylish. Makes it more pop, and more expensive looking.

The Saturn V and Shuttle Discovery LEGO sets set the bar so high that it's hard for any new NASA space set to measure up.
  • @jansonvocmf
The stickers really bring down my interest in this set.

Am I alone in saying I wish LEGO would make 18+ sets printed pieces only? Stickers make the model feel cheaper, like one of those cheap plastic space ships you'd get at a science museum.
  • Have to admit that gantry is beautiful, the best Lego has done so far. The umbilicals and arms retracting in unison feature is the chef's kiss.

This could have been so perfect if they had modeled the SLS to the same scale as the Saturn V set from 2017. I've always wished that set had the umbilical tower, and now that Lego is actually releasing a (really impressive) Launch Complex 39, the entire thing is dwarfed by the Saturn V?!? What?!? It would bug me so much to see those two sets side by side...
  • I think it looks awesome. A few things I would have liked to see different: stickers should be on clear film. Some metallic parts would have helped break up and add even more interest to the mostly grey structure. The tracked transport crawler which moves the entire launch pad, would have been AMAZING if included, however it would've made the set even costlier. I hope someone MOC's a crawler for this.
  • Glad that you're giving the Hubble its own highlight separate from the Discovery, it's a solid build in its own right and really deserves that.

I'm underwhelmed. If the set focused solely on the rocket like the Saturn V did, and actually made it to scale, I'd buy it. That's what the fans wanted. That's the idea we all voted for on Ideas not once, not twice, but thrice. Each time, Lego shot it down, presumably because they were making this. It's a letdown. All the stickers, the tiny scale of the rocket, and the needlessly huge tower. Sure, it makes a good display, but I think the budget could have gone solely into the rocket and made for an even better display. I'm not going to be buying this set, but I'm glad its pieces might be useful for someone to design a reasonably priced MOC of just the rocket down the line.

I’ve been waiting for you to review this!! 🙌🏼 cannot wait to get this and make a video on it! Thank you!
  • I don’t need it… I don’t need it… I definitely don’t need it… I NEED IT
  • @MilwaukeeMax
“…as someone who doesn’t display sets for long…” —spoken while sitting in front of dozens of built sets on permanent display behind him 😂
  • @Paladin0005
I'm not thrilled about the stickers but I'm really excited about this set. Not sure where I'll display it though.
  • @Hamish1968
I think the repetition side is not surprising for the tower, personally I can’t wait for this one!
  • @CapnTonyR
I really like your shelves, they're themed and not too crowded, and the sets displayed are some of my favourites.
  • @svenzockt6491
I waited for this set to happen for so long, that i first thought you were just reviewing a MOC. I love the Looks of it!

As a minifier, I'm not sure if this is better - the Saturn V model was awesome to build together with my coworkers, the rocket here is really simple in comparision.
