The Exo Stranger explains how, in her original timeline, the "Dark Future", Ana Bray went on to wield and become corrupted by the Darkness. This forced the Exo Stranger (aka Elsie Bray) to kill her little sister, Anastasia Bray...
This dialogue comes from the "Born in Darkness Part 2" quest line.

This occurs in the strangers timeline because Ana got corrupted by the dark due to her obsession with stasis. In the Dark Future lore, Ana acts strange and ends up killing Mara Sov. So pretty much the stranger just wants to save Ana from her dark future self
