Sarah Vine and Andrew Andrew Pierce react to Labour's loveless landslide. They discuss what Sir Keir Starmer's Government might mean for Britain, what the Conservatives have to do while in opposition and what Nigel Farage and Reform will be like in the commons.

They also answer listener questions including if it's time for Proportional Representation and if promising to scrap the Rwanda deal was a vote winner for labour.

  • What makes you think if reform wasn't around the Tories would have done better they would have just stayed at home

Strange, but interesting, that the Mail didn't carp about a minority vote for Brexit. Also, to claim that the current Labour government is a "Socialist" party is utterly ludicrous. If only.

The fact is that with the huge amount of tactical voting that took place thanks to our unfair voting system it's virtually impossible to draw much of a conclusion about the real level of support for Labour, Lib Dems or Reform. It was an anti-Tory vote and that's all we can say for sure.
  • I remember the Mail headline when Truss became PM -"Cometh the hour, cometh the woman" Says much about their judgement.
  • It may be loveless with the public towards Labour, but it was definitely that they despised the Tory's.
  • @Primrose37823
We do understand how the voting system works, what a ridiculous thing to say. People who voted Reform want Reform. If we have Labour in for a while and they can destroy themselves. Lifelong Conservative but I didn't want them to continue. Have treated us appallingly
  • I think a lot of the disenchanted Tory voters would have voted Labour if not for the reform option and not stuck with the tories
  • @david-pb4bi
What makes me laugh is the bitter Tories saying there is no difference between the Labour Party and Conservative Party, well why are they walking about with faces like they are running in the grand national?
  • Hope it's the end of millionaires serving multi millionaires let's hope for unbiased journalism let's hope for the end of lies and corruption
  • Vote reform in 2029 or you can have another 5 years of Labour!!! Reform votes aren't for turning.... Cons aren't any different from Labour now!!!!

Who'd have thought the Mail would be such bad losers, I'm shocked I tell you, shocked! 😂😂
  • @Chris-kn4vf
