Why Omni-Man VS Homelander Isn't Even Close!

For a few years now, we’ve been blessed with some of the greatest on-screen super villains we’ve ever seen. And no, I’m not talking bout Thanos or Joker, even though they are great. I’m talking bout the two twisted versions of Superman himself - Homelander and Omni-Man. But, for as similar as these two villains are, it isn’t really fair to compare them when it comes to a fight. One of these villains is much, much more powerful than the other. Sure, people try and do it now and then, but today, I’m gonna prove once and for all why Omni-Man vs Homelander isn’t even close

Not to mention that Omniman was voiced by J.K. Simmons. Which is equivalent to a 30% boost in physical capabilities.

“Omni-Man is a warrior, Homelander is a bully” -A wise man

I think Homelander actually couldn’t save the plane full of people because they applied realistic physics to the situation. If he applied the force to support the plane into a landing, it would probably come apart as the small contact points of his body against the plane pushed through it.

Don't forget that Nolan has centuries of hand to hand combat experience as well, for he was coaching Mark on many occasions of using various techniques. Remember he also had to defeat many of his own kind in order to survive the great Viltramite purge.

Homelander is a national threat whereas OmniMan is a planetary threat. Homelander is to OmniMan what a baseline human is to Homelander.

Also another note that I rarely see people point out, Viltrumites are accustomed to pain. Battles that actually challenge them will cause blood, guts and bones to splatter all over the place and they would still carry on fighting. Whereas Homelander who's never experienced any physical challenge, save from Soldier Boy and Butcher, would just writhe in agony over a battle with Omni-Man. Dude would probably cry for mercy the moment Omni-Man rips out his arm lol.

One other thing to point out about omniman's power is that, as he described, he can "move himself freely through space," and thus can access his full strength using aerial leverage. He also has like 100's of years of combat experience from a planet whose entire purpose is war. Homelander is strong for his verse, but he's literally not even close to omniman.
  • @Stoops_Ahoy
Homelander didn't state he couldn't lift the plane, he just explained a clear physics problem is all.
  • I love how for the first few hits, you can see the confusion on Homelander's face like "Wait, why am I in pain?"
  • @TheRelinquished9
Homelander explained the plane thing. He said he would just punch right through it cause of his strength...I don't get people saying he couldn't do it

There's a nuance here (I'm at 9:27 so maybe you bring this up) that shows a hacks reason why Omniman 100% beats Homelander even if they were closer in strength and durability. Homelander's inability to access his full strength while flying is a matter of leverage. This is actually the key to Viltrumite powers - they can create leverage at any point in space around their bodies (not sure what the spatial limits are). All other things being equal, Omniman would still have physics on his side.

One of the biggest things against Homelander is that he has never faced another individual of the same strength, other characters like Omni-Man & Superman have not only fought other similar level heroes/villains but have also faced people of their own races. Additionally Omni-Man is also trained in combat tactics which is somewhere I think Soldier-Boy and especially Butcher should have had an edge up on Homelander so Omni-Man would as well. Homelander is really just the biggest fish is his pond, most other characters he gets compared to not only have other big fish in their pond they also have been to other ponds.
  • @alexharman9001
Yup. The way they're portrayed in Invincible, I think that any Viltrumate would twist Homelander's head off his shoulders in about half a second.
  • Seems like a very odd oversight to think Homelander couldn't carry a plane because he was in the air. He clearly explained that no matter where he grabbed the plane, it would instantly tare apart, poking fun at superheroes of the past who handled planes as if they were cars.
  • @Sorenishii
I think Homelander vs. Immortal would be a closer fight, and immortal is the example what would happen to Homelander if he went 1v1 with Omni-Man.
  • @jayb8934
It's a moot point in light of all of that, but Omni-man also has centuries of intense training and combat experience. Before facing Soldier Boy, Homelander had basically never been in a serious fight with anyone of comparable power to himself. So even if their powers were equal (which as this video shows, they are not), I have no doubt that it would still be a curbstomp in Omni-man's favour just because he's so much more experienced. It's like a trained elite soldier going up against someone who's never even taken a self-defense class.
  • @ander2317
Death Battle but it perfectly with Omni Man’s opening words to Homelander. “I’m going to feed you your own heart.”

Just so you know the biggest asteroid known is Ceres. It is slightly smaller than Texas (584 miles wide compared to 773), and is estimated to weigh somewhere around 1 quintillion tons (1,000,000,000,000,000,000). The average asteroid is moving between 40,000-55,000mph. Stopping an asteroid like this is magnitudes more impressive than any feat homelander has ever had. Easily trillions of times harder than stopping a flying bus(which homelander couldn't even do). Comparing homelander to Omniman is like comparing black widow to Thanos, they arent even on the same metric, let alone level.

The reason Homelander says he couldn’t carry the plane isn’t that he isn’t strong enough it’s that because it would all be concentrated in such a small area (him comparative to the size of a plane) he’d just punch clean through trying which makes perfect sense. He gets stomped by omniman don’t get me wrong just clarifying that bit of info, we have no clue how much strength he has while flying Edit: just a note for the comments of “he said there’s nothing to push off” he did you’re right but he then also had the rest of the conversation about how he can’t fly at it without punching clean through or flipping it meaning he can still output force when flying we just don’t know how much or if it’s all from his acceleration and mass etc. And about the bus scene personally I don’t think it’s a good source just because he’s surprised by it we have no idea if he could lift it while flying, shit you’re very able to lift being thrown at you as a surprise could absolutely still knock you about irl and the boys is meant to be a more realistic take so I’m going with that logic. End of the day none of it matters when comparing the two because it’s basically a tank vs a toddler with a rubber hammer levels of unmatched XD
