Regarding the different coax cables: Whatever happened to RG-8 coax? I used that to put my Penetrator-500 on the roof of my parents' house, and even with using a RadioShack mobile CB in the farthest location in the basement, it worked GREAT (even with the TV antenna mounted under it)!
  • I'm a ham (KM6ASH) and got my start with scanners - I just received my SDS100 a few days ago and found your channel. You guys are a wealth of information and fun to watch, as well. Thank you very much for all the work you put into creating your content. I have learned a lot already and I'm looking forward to future episodes!

When I was working in Law Enforcement, we called it 'ET' Emergency Traffic for critical incidents; you would hear a beep or tweet type of sound on the air to alert everyone to stay off the air, unless you had an emergency also. The ET would be activated normally on 'hot stops' there was a bolo on the plate or car and the subject was presumed to be armed and dangerous. Will also hear ET on Domestic Violence calls, Home invasion, armed robbery, etc. Just some info from the work side of it.
  • Can you answer this question in a future show? When sending a update on Sentinel software back to the SDS 200 scanner, do you check one box to erase the existing Favorite Lists and the box to transfer updated Lists from the software or just the one box for transfer from software. When I check only the transfer box, I get more questions which I don't understand. If I check both boxes, I erase the settings I have put into the scanner directly from the scanner controls.
  • cameron douglas. just ground any pole antenna you mount. min 6 foot copper rod pounded in the ground and connected to the bottom of the pole with a large copper strap or large copper braided line. NOT just a copper wire. and have lightning suppressors on ALL coax lines.
