  • Thanks for posting your videos, I watched every single one and it helped me alot!!!

Can the scanner also be set so that when any of the tones are triggered it opens up the speaker so you can hear the call without having to push the Channel button? That would seem to be better for volunteers in case they're across the room or listening on their upcoming WiFi stream and can't reach the scanner to push the button. Thanks.

Radioreference has a listing of (some) “Tone Out” codes.

I have a question I followed your videos which are very helpful but I cant seam to pick up any digital frequencies ? can you please help me thanks.

where can i find the tones for my local FDs or EMTs? are they listed somewhere? also is this tone out feature running in the background or do i dedicate my scanner to standby, in other words can I scan as normal and if the tones sound does the scanner detect it?
  • I know this is an old YouTube clip on the Toneout Feature for the bcd536hp ... I take it the BCD436HP works the same way? How do I get the 436 scanner to scan multiple toneout setups at the same time? or is it only 1 setup at a time? What if I want a number of stations for toneout ... can I scan them all?

So I put in the frequency in for my county, and when a departments gets toned out, then can I save the tone and then edit the name for which department it was? They don't have the tones for which department listed.
  • Hello Doug and thanks for your BCD536HP videos. I did a tone-out in my area and found out that 033.800Mhz has all tones for stations in my county. My problem is I picked up 39 tones A/B so far on that frequency and more possible. I still have other frequency with tones I need to do.. How do I enter more tones after 31? If it has a limit should I do tones on stations only in my area?  73 Doug

Thank you for your videos. They did help, but they did not help enough. Uniden made the Sentinel software so user UN-friendly, and the scanner so impossible to figure out, combined with an instruction manual that is useless since it was written by someone who doesn't even speak English, and I'm going to return this 536 just like I did the last one. What a disaster and a waste of my time.

This scanner and all other scanners are useless now, police have gone to digital encryption now
