Why Was George Russell Disqualified After A Brilliant Strategy Call In The 2024 Belgian GP

George Russel was disqualified from the Belgium gp due to being underweight. The Mercedes f1 team had a 1-2 and it was taken away hours after the grand prix had finished. This means zero points afte what was a thrilling grand prix before the summer break. Lewis hamilton has now taken his 105 victory.

Okay I see the comments on my pronunciation and I know it ain’t great. I speak two languages, and obviously the g isn’t pronounced the way I said it. Gotta learn when to use my euro accent 😁

44 Laps, Car 44 won, Document 44 got George disqualified. Poetic
  • @Anonimuser8642
It seems that similar to Charles, George has used all his luck to win Austria and since then he has had a DNF, eliminated in Q1 due to a team mistake and an DSQ taking away his greatest win so far

Bro said "bellgin" gp. Hard G in Belgian is a madness😂
  • @Makavelli2127
This is the kind of season i was expecting when these new regs were implemented.

People should read the summons doc. It says the car was initially weighed and found to be right at the limit, like to the decimal point, which the FIA thought was suspicious so they checked the fuel tank saw there was over 2L of fuel left. So they fully drained the tank, as per the regs, and re-weighed the car and found it to be 1.5kg lighter. Got nothing to do with fuel saving or marble pickup

Did you all see Wolf..,he was celebrating more Ham win in Silverstone than here double win...he didnt even smile..like he knew...
  • @blondi5419
The fuel is drained before weighing the car. The actual car was 1.5kg under weight... embarrassing from mercedes
  • Maxs radio mid race sounded like he was holding back the whole time he’s like “should I get them now” like he was about to break everyone spirit and pass everyone with a new engine but he gained like 1 place? Since lap 20 lol
  • @walter1824
If Lewis knew what Merc were up to, he would have pushed more. Russell's car was also lighter which was saved his tires
  • @thejose24
You’re telling me they a full room of engineers and not think about the weight of George’s car? Jeez. They could’ve asked him to save fuel and have Lewis go through. Worst case he could’ve still ended up 3rd.

When the officials find an irregularity on one car, do they automatically check the teammates car as well?

Lando won't be competing for a championship as long as he continues to lose spots in the first lap of the race... Had he not lost 3 spots he would have certainly been right there helping McLaren fight for the win... Oscar is really starting to pressure Lando for the top spot on the team...
  • @renegadeseed375
If George had done a cool down victory lap and picked up marbles he'd been totally fine... YOU HAVE NO MARBRES!😂
  • @AJG63
Heartbreaking for George, but happy for Lewis in a race he deserved a win in
  • Had nothing to do with fuel. They take the fuel out before they weigh the cars. It seems like it was a combination of tire wear and plank wear.
  • It was Lewis day. - 44 Race Laps - 44 Lewis Hamilton Car - 44 FIA Report.
  • @Dulano25
Heartbroken, atleast Lewis was there to "pick up the pieces" 😉
  • @ral3xmgaming118
If George’s car hadn’t been underweight , not only would he had not been able to keep Lewis behind, but he wouldn’t have been able to finish on those hard, because the car was lighter, therefore that caused the tyres to grain less
