Full restoration of Sheriff Woody from Toy Story. I will repair this crazy Zombie edition of the beloved doll from the classic movie Toy Story 2 from the year of 1999.

The restores tool chest that I use in this video
In this video I use an almost identical copy of the famous restores tool chest used in the original movie Toy Story 2 produced by Pixar animation studios back in 1999. I got this tool chest from another very skilled woodworker and YouTuber named Matthew Moustache. You can see him create the beautiful tool chest here:    • Making Toy Story 2 Cleaner Tool Chest...

The restoration process
I started disassembling the Woody doll by taking of all his clothes. One foot was really burned, so I had to use the heat blower to get off his cowboy boots. I took the Zombie head off and placed it on a scary looking home build platform which is a reference to one of Sid Phillips toys from the original Toy Story 2 movie.

I pulled out all the U nails and the metal plate who was melted into Woodys head. I did a short sandblasting and I used baking soda as sandblasting media to avoid destroying the soft plastic on his head. I cleaned all the holes and made some reinforcements with wood and tiny nails, so I could sculp a new strong and lasting face with clay. I used air drying silky doll clay to sculp and repair Woodys face.

I used a lot of time filling, grinding and shaping the face. I painted him using my airbrush with many layers of acrylic water-based hobby paint. I mixed a custom skin color who is slightly darker than the original color and I also painted his hair and eyebrows a bit darker that the original Woody. I printed the eye color with my color printer and glued the paper onto his eyes.

Buzz Lightyear made a new cowboy belt buckle for his friend. And this ended up really cool. I washed all his clothes in my mini washing machine and bought some second-hand boots on e-bay to replace to old burned ones.

It was a very challenging restoration and a hard job making the face look real again. I was aiming for the face shape and cool expression that Woody have in Toy Story 2 movie. And I think that I succeeded very good with the face repair job.

I really liked this restoration and I hope that you enjoy this video. Please subscribe if you want to see more cool upcoming projects 🙂 Also see my Buzz Lightyear Restoration video:    • Restoration of Buzz Lightyear - Toy S...  &list=UULFsCCifMby57qV_UmrYGladQ

I remember going to the "dolls hospital" in glasgow, early '60's. Very creepy place, didn't even have a beer cooler. The culture of "replace, don't repair" killed that mans job. Great seeing yourself taking up the challenge. Doing it with humour is even more impressive. Grand job squire...woodie's a good guy, he deserves it.

Honestly, this felt like a mini movie in the life of an alternate timeline Sheriff Woody. Torn apart, mangled, and crudely stapled together by, perhaps, a completely innocent looking child, only to be thrown away and forgotten for years, and left scared and alone. One day, he's approached by a tall and scary man clad in black and tattoos, clenching a large box in his fist. The tall man picks him up and carries the frightened Sheriff home. Woody's mind is filled with all sorts of terrifying thoughts about what's to happen to him. He feels all of the staples be pulled out his face, and the last thing he remembers before his consciousness fading, is the sight of his friend Buzz Lightyear... then... darkness... nothing... completely unaware of anything and everything going on around him. . . . . . Suddenly, he awakens. His face feels complete again. His arm feels strong. His clothes feel and smell fresh once again. He can see through both of his eyes. And the first thing he sees, are his friends Buzz, Jessie, and Rex, and his new best friend, the man in black, Andy.
  • The fact you used the same kind of tool box that repaired Woody in Toy Story 2 is just a magnificent detail. I just love seeing people repair these forgotten objects (like toys, weapons or consoles) to their former glory and even doing so in a fun and satisfying way.

Imagine how happy Woody would be to actually be restored from such a Monstrous State.

Never did I think I’d live long enough to see this nostalgic masterpiece of a toolbox in real life, Man you didn’t just make my day you. You made my millennium 👏🏾❤️

Omg the real life version of the repairman's kit!! That is amazing, I absolutely loved the repair scene in the original movie. Seeing the real life version was like kid me's dream come true.

Honestly whoever did the spooky customization on Woody did an amazing job- The amount of detail they put into the metal stitches and such with the blood is super spooky (which is what I assume they were going for). And the false glass-looking eye is just like a cherry on top for maximum spookiness. I love the restoration progress as well, it was so cool to watch a spooky doll customization go back to the normal cute doll customization (restoration).

The level of detail that you put in all the scenes and all the references that you put to the movies is something incredible, it shows that you are a true lover of Toy Story, it seems to me an incredible craftsmanship, every time you surpass yourself more. I continue to be surprised where you get these "monster dolls" a cordial greeting!
  • You are a true artist to be appreciated. Apart from the beautiful restorations you have made, you are also a visual art director. While you were sandblasting, the image on the glass (which is a very nice detail) did not go unnoticed. Also thanks to Mr. Mustache for the Awesome Tool chest.

When you removed Bonnie's name from woodie's boot and wrote Andy's name on that boot, I shed a happy tear 😢. As someone who grew up watching toy story franchise, my heart broke into pieces watching toy story 4, which basically ruined the whole story, Bonnie and Woodie's character for me to the point that I couldn't watch the previous movies anymore. Now watching this reminded me that the only person deserving Woodie is Andy himself. Thank you.✌

Every child's toy has a soul. Thank you for bringing this one back. Fantastic restoration. Wonderful production sir.

2:06 Woody says “There’s a snake in my boot” as the pull string gets cut 2:36 30 seconds later, there’s actually a snake in his boot! XD
  • Просто маг и волшебник!!! Браво, спасибо за спасение Вуди, он шикарен теперь 😊❤
  • @nightwing3618
this is the alternative universe that woody and buzz didn't escape from Sid's house. Also, how long does it take you to design the creepy versions, that much detail is incredible.
  • @ryker_taksony
I wanna take a second to appreciate that this man has an exact replica of the toy tool box from Toy Story 2. That so made my day ❤️
