Jordan, my 5yr old watched this video yesterday morning. He did not look away. He was completely engaged. I took him out to the pond this afternoon. He had it nailed in three casts. You guys are building foundations for mentors to build on. Keep up the great work. Your humility speaks volumes of encouragement.

Enjoyed watching, but you missed one of the key elements - when to release the line from the index finger during the cast. It is one of the hardest things for beginners to figure out the timing of that release. You see lots of lures plunking in the water at their feet, or dropping behind them, until they get that timing just right.

I have used baitcast reel all my life (I'm 72) and just decided I wanted to learn spinning. I thought you did an excellent job of teaching someone who is new to spinning reels how to cast. Much appreciated. Many times people make their instruction too complicated or over the beginner's head....to me your presentation was perfect. Thanks. Larry

Great tips! I'm in my mid 40s and have just taken up the hobby. One tip I'd like to add that helped out me a lot is finger placement. I was holding my line too high, right up against the pole. When I lowered my finger a bit so it was about half way between the pole and the reel I had much better success. Thanks for all the great vids and info guy's!
