Shocking VR Locomotion Breakthroughs for Star Citizen

Star Citizen VR is coming, but there's a few things that need a solution first. VR locomotion has never had an immersive one-size-fits-all people and scenarios device or software, but Disney may have figured it out. Disney's Holotile, the EXIT SUIT, OWO Skin, & Bifrost Pulse may all figure into providing the next level of VR immersion.

Thanks for the views! VR is starting to mature from an expensive toy w/limited use; to a convenient, productive tool that plays games. I'd like to make more VR vids.

I keep telling people, the Verse is the closest thing we have right now to the Oasis from Ready Player One. The software side is what is being worked on, we just need hardware to catch up and we are there.
  • @joecarioti629
One thing everyone agrees on is that Dig's voice is the smoothest on YouTube.
  • I can't get over how seamless your editing is and how smooth your cadence is. Truly awesome, man.

I saw the omni-directional treadmill a little while ago and was immediately excited about what the future could hold. While I like getting my exercise outside. I love gaming as well and lets admit, gaming can be unhealthy when we do it many hours a day. This would help with that plus add an amazing amount of immersiveness.
  • @Nemethon
I would be already happy if Star Citizen have some native VR support. In a pilot seat using vr, it is really a game changer.
  • @renshan3657
That Disney treadmill tile thing looks nice, but that exoskeleton thing, damn that is what I want to see evolved. It simulates walking, EVA, and supports you like a seat when you are sitting in your game. You do need full virtual controls for your ship however.

Bro that "Credicinni Alfredo" comment was hilarious! Man you always got some hilarious sayings. That voice though too....smooth operator. GOD BLESS YOU SIR IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH!
  • @ShaneShepherd
Wow! As usual, your script writing is fantastic and your voice is smooth. Great video!

Dig, as much I dig this whole idea of HoloFloor or whatever disney gonna name it, you are overthinking it. Let me just point to one game, a flat screen game that was made perfectly for VR: Half Life 2. Recently I finished HL2 vr and HL2E1 VR and it was perfect. Nothing out of the ordinary needed for a good immersive VR experience.

I would be in the 3rd camp. In games like no mans sky, I play standing up with motion controllers, and when I get into my ship I walk over and sit down in my cockpit (still using motion controllers since NMS doesnt support HoTAS unfortunately). This is ideally how I'd want to play star citizen in VR. But I could understand if they decide not to go full motion controls (for even on foot) I could settle for gamepad on foot.

Man this video compiled so many things I was not aware of. That force feedback shirt sounds incredible. Its really looking more and more like RP1 tech can be a reality.
  • @RazorSharkTabor
What I do know is that elite dangerous uses a keyboard or a game pad to allow you to key bind certain controls, I don't know but I have a big hunch that they will include keyboard controls as part of the immersion because you can't bind everything to a quest controller or an index controller. Being real here they might need you to even buy special hardware like their own controllers if they ever made them that has all the features on them. I'm talking out my ass but you know what I mean. I love your videos man the insights are very appreciated.
  • @GeneralHiro
Having played Star Citizen before the engine swap when it had VR Support all i can say is... It's Incredible!!!
  • Bruh, you just got the fastest subscribe I've ever given a channel. Informative and hilarious. Keep it up!
  • @Acidmonk603
Any time I have mentioned this in the official SC forums, I get roasted, so maybe I'll try here.....so SC had VR support for awhile already. This was sometime around 2013? I was using the developer kit for Oculus so it was awhile ago. It was just for view but it was amazing. I was loving playing Arena Commander in VR. This game needs VR but even if we just get VR for view I would be happy.
  • @Dr_Old_Bones
So glad I found your channel! Looking forward to seeing more of your VR StarCitizen content! o7 see ya in the verse!
  • @BeefyReefy
Mate your content is absolutely fantastic keep up the great work! I look forward to seeing you hit 100k then 1m! Keep doing what you're doing brother contents great, editing is fantastic and your voice is meant to be in movie trailers
  • @1blackone
This all means nothing if Star Citizen doesn't support it. I just need the 80/20 of this to work with the game: Quest 2 setup for upper body tracking, Steamlink, small play area next to the cockpit setup, cheap webcam for VOIP, done.
  • @sabot8075
I would love to take the social aspects of VrChat and implement it to Star Citizen! Drinking beer playing billiards in an 890 jump with friends would definitely be an alternative friday night activity
