黑冠麻鷺學名：Gorsachius melanolophus，英文名：Malayan Night-Heron，俗稱暗光鳥（與夜鷺一樣），分佈在亞洲南部、東部和東南亞，在印度、中國、台灣和菲律賓等一帶繁殖。在台灣屬普遍的留鳥，身長約47公分。在繁殖期入夜後會站在樹枝上、屋頂向四方大聲鳴叫。
The Malayan night heron has been found in India, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Japan.
