Took me a minute, but I saw what you did there. The lack of references of the oil in the video, especially in the second half of the video symbolizes the lack of physical oil the Germans had for the war effort especially in the second half of the war. Revolutionary documentary style.

Any serious student of WW2 understood that oil was the single most critical material. That Germany did not have enough pretty much guaranteed its final defeat; Japan as well.

There was a saying coined by soldiers on the Eastern Front: "The lucky man is sent to France and returns to see his wife, but the one sent far away to the East can expect only to lose his life".

The oil issue was very well portrayed in the movie, Battle of the Bulge, when one officer commented to another that Germany were destined to loose when the USA could supply its troops so well & enough more to fly over a freshly made chocolate cake from a mother to her son on the front. Even the troop replacement tactic was in error when the baby birth program was started. That alone to end up with trained replacements would take at least another 15-20 years.

The Royal Navy conducted a naval blockade of Germany that cut off traditional oil supplies and raw materials. It took time, but the blockade had a drastic effect on the conduct of the war. Germany had to rely on expensive synthetic oil and the only European source at Ploesti.

Okay so 1/4 of the vid is a review of the war in general.
No real discussion of how much oil germany needed used or alternatives.
Not a good vid for the title -
Soviets had an overwhelming industrial power in 1941 already. Noteworthy, most of those factories were built in the 30s with vast American assistance, traded for Ukrainian corn that Stalin sent to the US while letting his people starve and die.
