Watch Kate Winslet reflect on winning the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in "The Reader" years later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPXznK7K-9A

Kate’s dad whistling is my favorite Oscar moment ever!
-
I'm doing a "watch Oscar videos" marathon
-
One of my favourite Oscar moments of all time, love Kate’s speech so much. And love that up on that stage is Kate who is British, with Sophia an Italian, Nicole an Australian, Marion who is French, Shirley an American, and Halle a mixed race African American. All so talented and wonderful.
-
The moment when Kate asked her Dad to whistle so that she can figure out his whereabouts then instantly the Dad responded, got me in tears. What a sweet Daughter and Dad relationship! And to Anne Hathaway’s expression when the winner is announced: such a humble & wonderful person! It speaks her true beauty in and out!!!
-
All the 5 ladies nominated are Oscar winners by the year 2013.
-
Anne Hathaway's reaction is everything..... She's so geniuenly happy for Winslet. Ironically Hathaway won her Oscar for a singing performance
-
If you listen around 6:00 right after she wins you can hear her dad whistle the first time. They must’ve talked about doing something like that so she could find him but she was so swept up initially she didn’t hear the first one! So adorable. The second try made Oscar history.
-
She is actually like the Rose in real life Rich, classy, humble & beautiful
-
When you hear Kate Winslet shout, "Yeah!" you can tell that she's still that 8 year old girl looking into the mirror full of dreams and hope.
-
"Dad, whistle or something because then I'll know where you are!" A daughter's love expressed so authentically on the biggest stage in the world at the biggest moment of her life. Love!
-
Me the whole time “Where’s Leonardo DiCaprio at”
-
Best speach ever. She's extraordinary, kind, funny, vulnerable, strong, all in one person.
-
you are already a legend when you are winning against Meryl streep
-
That whistle was the best thing that ever happened to the Oscars 🤣
-
the nice thing about this is all the other nominee's reactions, i love seeing women support and appreciate other women and this was a perfect example of that <3
-
She deserved it very much. She's one of the most incredible and legendary actresses of all time. I love you Kate! ❤
-
At 7:33 when she yells yeah and points out her dad, you can see that 8-year-old inside of her finally having her dreams come true.
-
“It’s not a shampoo bottle now” That almost got me damn
-
I was rooting for Jolie, the Changeling was a great movie and the way she yelled at that child, “You’re not my son” felt very real and heartbreaking.
