Okay, so I wanted to upload this later than usual to give much more importance to Episode 51, which was a blast and was extremely well received. A longer pause also helps giving a better feeling of closure, leading to a new story arc with new regular characters to begin.

I have already worked and edited all of the synced parts between Days and Re:CoM and they turned out pretty well. There's also some extra stuff I'm working for the whole Days portion and I can't wait to show them to you.
Starting a new playthrough for Days with the enhanced graphics through an emulator would be extremely time consuming and pointless. Bad graphics will still be bad, no matter how many pixelated they look. This is why I'm simply using my original Days playthrough, which was very well edited and detailed.

Also, I'm not just throwing the HD movie stuff in, but I'll be adding some exclusives parts related to the original version of the game as well. I actually find some text boxes to be extremely interesting and important, providing a better understanding of the characters and their relationship. Even basic stuff like tutorials do integrate parts of the story as a whole, as well as showing the relationships between Roxas and the other members. I'm not saying they're not boring, but I'm not even saying they're useless. They do serve a purpose for the full understanding of Roxas as a character and must not be underestimated.
For this episode in particular, we can actually foresee Marluxia's true intentions and his interest towards the Keyblade's power, which is something that will make more sense once we get to Re:CoM. The HD movie from 1.5 doesn't show this at all.

KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is an incredibly massive project I've been wanting to do forever. The only thing that was stopping me from actually working on it was the still-incomplete plot of the χ[chi] portion of the whole saga, which is also the most confusing one. However, I did want to deliver this before the release of KINGDOM HEARTS 3, so we could have the perfect road to the final chapter of the Xehanort saga at our disposal and relive, together, all of the chapters in a definitive and never-seen-before way.
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is, in fact, different by any other playthroughs or projects around because it is composed of all the Kingdom Hearts titles released so far placed in chronological order. Beware – the events are actually settled chronologically. Which means that every single cutscene and/or gameplay part will follow the exact order of the events of the saga. For instance, the birth of Vanitas will be shown before the Mark of Mastery exam, and so on.
Every episode will start with a screen showing a complete timeline I created purposely for this project.

KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE doesn't want to be a simple movie made of cutscenes. If It were to be like that, there wouldn't be anything special about it. This project actually started as a playthrough, giving, of course, priority to story content.
Sitting and watching a 25 minutes video made of cutscenes we've been watching for a decade is just as boring as anything else. Gameplay bits have been thoughtfully placed to make sure you won't fall asleep when watching, giving their contribute for a more immersive experience. They are necessary for keeping people interested and entertained in a never-seen-before way to re-live the saga, watching multiple characters fighting at the same time, as well as showcasing the worlds and the variety of enemies we'll encounter through all the titles.
Besides, I'm not adding more than 1 minute or so of random gameplay in a total of 25 minutes for each episode–except for bosses lasting 2 minutes or so. Boss battles are still what people look forward to the most in a Kingdom Hearts playthrough, and this project won't be exception.
Finding the right balance is not easy and not always possible –due to countless technical restrictions related to music, episode length and such– just as it's not easy having everyone thinking alike. Of course, I can't make everyone happy, but I did want to point this out.

This is crazy. I've always had an iffy opinion of Days because I felt like the story had a lot more potential to show a deeper look into all the members of the Organization and its internal politics, but failed to really deliver that in its execution. However, while watching this, I'm realizing that I've never once read through the Secret Reports in Days, and didn't even know there were entries written by all the different Organization members! And now, seeing the Reports edited in along with so many in-game cutscenes sorely missing from the HD movie in 1.5, I feel like I'm finally starting to witness something much closer to the Days that I imagined in my mind when the game was first announced back in 2007. This makes me super excited for future episodes!! Thank you as always, Everglow, for taking something I've seen so many times and showing it to me in a new and exciting way :D
  • Ok guys, it's back! It has been 5 days but it's here, Kingdom Hearts Season 4, with a new protagonist, a bunch of DS pixels, ice cream, Sora being the deuteragonist (like Aqua was in Season 3) and many feels. A lot of feels. So, let's enjoy the ride!

"What's our bosses name?" "...Xemnas." "No way your going to forget his name, right?" And already foreshadowing....

It's amazing how the members who met Ventus ins the past are now meet him again but in other way (through Sora's Nobody), Marluxia, Axel, Saix, Vexen, Zexion, Laxaeus, Xigbar, Xaldin and both his best friend and worse enemy Terra - Xehanort's Nobody aka Xemnas

Nice way of flickering Lauriam and Ienzo in there! It's funny this video starts off in Day 7, because today is the seventh day of August and "Day 7" of the KHUX's Summer Adventure event. And this whole 358/2 Days collaboration in KHUX. Ok, let me stop because my brain is starting to hurt from these coincidences. LOL

Time for the most soul-crushing segment of the entire series. Between Namine being so desperate for love and care that she manually inserts herself into two boys' memories and cause permanent damage to them, Repliku trying to prove the validity of his existence, Roxas discovering who and what he is, and Xion learning that she is even less than nothing...WATCH ME CRY ALL MY TEARS.
  • @KaitheKnightly
13:07 - 13:11 I love the Union X scene you flashed too. I wonder of Marluxia remembers that far back. Unless he doesn't remember like Ventus...
  • @Gutslove
LET THE CHILDREN EAT THEIR ICE CREAM IN PEACE, SAIX
  • Wow, I totally forgot the weird connection between Roxas and Marluxia. Great job with the Union X flicker :D
  • @Dark_Tale
So glad you are adding in the secret journals. I remember spending so much time unlocking them all and they add a lot to the story as a whole.

I gotta say, I was pretty surprised to see you using footage from the original DS game and not just the cutscenes from the HD collections. But I can see why you decided to go this route. There is a lot of great interactions and moments from the original game that didn't make it to 1.5. So excited to see how CoM and Days synch up with one another and I can't wait for the next episode!
  • @GE0RGECREWS
Ventus & luariam, roxas & marluxia. From dandelions to nobodies. I like that! My favorite storyline in the KH series thus far. Loved playing as a villains (O13 members) & it gave roxas a backstory. Kinda wish they remade days but i understand why they didnt. Sidebar: I want some sea salt ice cream. I heard its really good.
  • @P.Mahoney
Much like the Ansem and Xehanort Reports prior, I'm so happy you're including the Secret Reports of 358/2 Days. It makes this timeline all the more interesting.
  • @SehaChan
This is my favourite game in the series. ♥
  • Yes! The full story of Days with all the extra stuff! Thank you Everglow!
  • @Aural4444
My favorite game of the franchise is this one, and I love that you have decided to put the original game along with the remastered movie as well as your supreme editing skills. It is true that the original game does not have the best graphics for its time and console, but it was the one that best showed the lifestyle, circumstances, personalities, and relationships of our favorite members of the XIII organization. I hope that the next video takes less time to come out than this, that I almost died of waiting. Thank you very much for your videos, they are the best.
  • I could not WAIT for this part of the series to start. Two and a half minutes in and my heart is already aching. Keep up the absolutely outstanding work, Everglow! And just a quick thank you for mixing in some of the DS portions of this game as well - at certain points the movie hadn't animated what were really crucial parts of Roxas' life, which sort of made it lackluster in needed context and POVs not only from his side, but from Xion's as well. Plus, everyone's favorite line: "Roxas, that's a stick." Roxas...pls, have mercy on my emotions, they're fragile
