I expect a virtual Westworld. More accessble, more scenario possibilities, cheaper, any malfunction just pop the server-brain conector out, and even contributes for human evolution to human+

Would love if you did a video on when AI/Robots will take over construction and skilled trades. This is my industry (electrician), and everyone thinks it’s 30 years away. Would be curious to see where we actually are

Is this the understatement of the Millennium - "If you have an army of them and they turn on you -- that's acutually not good..."

One Stepford-wife for man; one giant leap for Robotkind.
  • For people with a porn addiction, this is like heroin 2.0 being invented.

It would be a lot more cost effective for a big corporation to focus on creating the Westworld experience in a matrix simulation rather than reserve a whole part of a theme park for 1 person at a time. The space and energy required to give a customer the same experience in the simulation would be a tiny fraction of the robotics option.

I wasn't expecting the reference to that ST episode with Barclay. What a way to end off the presentation. I remember that episode making an impression on me seeing it for the first time, very effective exploration of the topic of VR addiction.

Remember when Westworld came out and it seemed totally unrealistic or at least like an extremely distant future. I actually felt like it was one of those things you just had to suspend your disbelief to take seriously at the time, but now it's hardly even pushing the boundaries of what we see is possible. It's crazy how much has changed in such a short amount of time.

A sexy, infinitely patient robot that can do everything perfectly and loves me unconditionally ... yeah, sign me up! I imagine this will cause a reduction in human population / birth rate. Many people will not want to go through the mating process and face rejection / emotional pain. This is going to be a serious issue that we will need to address 10-20 years down the line.

One thing about the host bodies, you actually showed one of the older models. The newer models, that are often shown in the show's intro, are actually 3D printed organic bodies. It's mentioned throughout the show that not much is different between humans and the newer hosts besides what is in their skull.

Great video! You point out quite a unique composition of topics 😀

I want my personal Dolores. Just for me.

So interesting to listen to your videos. Great content.

Awesome video! I'm very surprised there was not one mention of the synthetics from the Alien Franchise, including Prometheus and Covenant, much much interesting points of lore related to this topic there.
  • The Westworld robot scenario is already active with actress Gemma Chan and the work that has been done for her AI robot. Now it will be integration into more realistic scenarios. As viewed on the YouTube channel Spark. David’s perspective is spot on where the future is going.

Robots suck right now. They are not dexterous at all. We will get the mind way before we get the body, which is a bit counter intuitive.
