What's the difference between all these watercolor papers?!

This video will explain watercolor paper weights (90lb, 140lb, 300lb) and surface textures (hot, cold, rough, Yupo) to help you choose the right paper for your projects. I will also explain how and why you should stretch your watercolor paper.

Hi Jescia..I have used 140lb for years now with Designers Gouache, and sometimes the paper will curl up at corners and edges. So when the painting is finished, I mix some thin mixture of paint (almost a wash), and paint the reverse of the art. That usually takes away the stiffness of the paper, kinda relaxes it. Those warping problems are more of a problem, as seen on another video you made. Just bought a fine spray bottle to try and spray the back on one particular 12 x 26 inch painting, where it's wavy on bottom edge. I paint from vintage American comic book cover to poster size, and from vintage Christmas cards. Now there's a contrast in themes! Looking forward to more of you videos..take care. RAY in England.
