A Q&A about my recent Tetris video, as well as my channel as a whole, future plans, etc. This was a lot of fun, hoping to do more!

Yo salt i don’t know what you did diffrent with this one, but i think this is one of the best videos you’ve ever made. Even though it’s pretty lengthy, it feels very short and snappy. Love it. Keep it up king

Thanks for acknowledging Jonas Neubauer's passing and why you didn't mention it in the video. It wasn't a video about CTWC, it's a history about Tetris records.
  • @RubiksRonaldo
I could definitely see summoning salt making a "Quest to Beat Jonas Neubauer" in the distant future, it'd definitely be an absolutely fabulous video
  • @vinzo0913
Just saying, you're one of the only youtubers that I cheer at when I see the video reaches longer than an hour. You release free movie level documentaries on topics that I hold close to my heart, thank you salt ❤

Hi SummoningSalt, my family sits down and watches these together. And thr Turkathlon I hope returns. I appreciate the work you do.
  • @theomnivert
Damn, you're really transparent about your metrics and thoughts about future videos. Felt like you were really a person shrouded in mystery before this

1:06:06 thank you for not making a big deal out of ages, as someone who's had firsthand experience with that. about a year ago when i was 17 i got a world record in a game that a streamer who was orders of magnitude more popular than me was running. when he played it at a live event he mentioned how a 17 year old was ahead of him and was a little mean about it; the crowd booed when he said my age lol. it really becomes all people fixate on, people in his chat would talk about me like i was a little kid

On the topic of branching outside of strictly speedrunning to gaming records in general, I would absolutely be a fan of that if you chose to do that! I will admit though, I'm having a hard time thinking of good games to tackle next in that regard. But with how fantastic this Tetris video was, I'm certain whatever you produce next will be great :D
  • That was an entertaining little production, the Tetris thing. Feature length, very nice. You could make a watchable storyline out of a soiled diaper I'm sure. It's not just because it was about Tetris. Hey, make a video about the race to the top of the diaper industry and prove me right. EDIT: Jonas died? No I think telling the people who knew nothing about Tetris that the guy who started it all had died would have been something to consider. Put a couple of sentences at the end before the credits, black background, no audio, "In memory of Jonas Neubauer, who started it all".
  • The Tetris video was amazing! Although i like pretty much all your videos, the tetris one felt kinda different. I really liked how the multiple storylines were interwoven, to give an accurate impression of how crazy the history of this game truly is.

Tetris is definitely one of those games everyone and I mean everyone has had the chance to at least play once in their life. And you can immediately understand the connection between the game becoming more difficult as the levels increase too the increased skill needed to continue. Most of us probably gave up at some point. So to see these new players just blowing everyone mind and pushing the game farther then its limits will find most people in astonishment. You would think 'It's Tetris' how interesting could this be? And your expectations are completely blown out of the water. This has all the hallmarks of great story telling and your video captured it perfectly. And the funny thing is, it's not over yet.

I definitely want someone to make a record history of OoT and just go hard and make it as long as it needs to be. I understand why Salt wouldn't want to take it on though.
  • @Nightcaat
My honest reaction to the salt being summoned: 🧊
  • @titowrestling
I’d love to see Ocarina of Time speedrun history, Ganon% in particular.
  • I loved this one because it’s less about a “time” and more a succession of different records. More like this please!
  • @darkruler388
Would love to see a remake of the Super Metroid video! I feel like A LOT has happened to that game over the years since you posted your video.
  • @Overninja1203
Tetris was honestly one of the best videos you put out there. My personnal favorites are Mario kart related ones and especially the Abney and MR saga ones. That 31/32 hype was insane. Thanks also for making us discover all those incredible songs going with the vids.

The quest to beat The Godfather Dictator. Bummed I missed the live. I have been wondering how long it would be before a video dropped that I liked more than Lego Star Wars and this was it. Your ideas and ability to run with them is inspiring.
