I enjoyed your review. I also wanted to share an experience I've had with this set up.  I initially set up the DJI RS 3 Pro using their directions on attaching the BMCC 6K Pro camera to the upper quick release plate. With the BMCC 6K Pro this meant attaching the upper quick release plate via one bolt to the bottom of the BMCC 6K Pro. After doing this I noticed that even after a short use with the RS 3, the bolt came loose on the camera - not a good sign. I next mounted the BMCC 6K Pro in the Tilta cage. The cage secures to the camera via three bolts - two at the bottom and one at the top. Then, I secured the cage to the upper quick release plate using three bolts (which were not all available in the initial set up with just the camera). Now when I use the RS 3 with the 6K Pro the camera is much more secure. No loose bolts after use. Essentially, this change enables going from a one bolt configuration to a five bolt configuration. Especially for a camera this heavy, this makes a big difference. The cage is obviously the way to go with this configuration. Thanks again for your review!

Sadly most of these features mentioned only work on the RS3 Pro, the lidar AF, the new dji wireless monitor/grips, and external mounting.

Solid upgrades! I want the RS3 Pro so bad but for now, RS3 serves me just right.

Love the video. Is active track available on the 3 (not pro) and do you need anything else to make it happen? (Eg raveneye)

I'd love to know how you feel about the Ronin 4D vs the BMCC 6k Pro + RS3? I've been in love with the Ronin 4D for having amazing autofocus, gimbal and wireless monitor, for having a quick, integrated system perfect for small crews/indie films. My main hesitation now is around the removal of ProRes RAW. And now DJI have released the Transmission and the RS3/lidar focusing separately, so that begs the question on whether it's a better to grab these and pair with BMCC?! Also as BM RAW is pretty unbeatable as an efficient RAW codec! Would love to hear your thoughts having used both systems!

I waited 5 months for my RS2 to get delivered and they release a RS3 pro?? My luck sucks..

I’m aware the lidar focus can be used without the gimbal but can the remote focus be used without using the lidar as well? Is there a separate focus handle that can be purchased, either third party or from DJI, that will provide follow focus using the DJI motor provided you have set it up through the gimbal and calibrated the lens?

Would the Ronin Rs3 be able to support the Canon 90d with the 18-135 mm lens ? I’m having trouble finding the answer , thank you! This would be my first gimbal so I want to be sure it works!

Hi Film Riot, Thanks a lot for this informative video -- I really liked the closeup shots of the gimbal so I could see the build quality. At this point, I am not sure whether it is best to keep my Zhiyun Crane 2 for the next few years or upgrade to the RS3 Pro. I have had the Zhiyun Crane 2 since 2018 and have been using it to make walking videos -- feel free to check them out on my channel. It is calibrated nicely to compensate for sudden turn movements (good amount of deadband). Though the micro jitters and z axis bounce movement can bother me sometimes -- especially on intense hikes. I am wondering in your opinion whether it is worth it to upgrade from the Zhiyun Crane 2 to the DJI RS3 Pro?

What do you use as a power solution for your 6k while on a gimbal?

Does the bluetooth connection work on the RS2 as well? Or just the RS3 series.
