Gari & Raheem are exes, but more importantly friends, who have spent the past 7 years deeply involved in each other’s lives. The couple broke up after transitioning their romantic, monogamous relationship to an open relationship. After taking some space, the two share an intimate conversation about their feelings for one another and how the prospect of polyamory changed their dynamic. Don’t miss their full conversation, catch Part 2 here: bit.ly/GariRaheemP2

We'd like to thank Gari & Raheem for participating openly & vulnerably in our project. We appreciate what they've shared with us and hope you do as well.

  • crazy how you can be fine living your own life, until that one individual comes along and affects you to the point of feeling incomplete without them
  • @AllEyezOnRod
Best feeling on earth is to be loved. Hopefully everyone finds true love.
  • @amazinggrace313
My ex would never do this..so sad how I'll never have questions answered , so I gave myself closure.
  • @AmariHetep
“I feel like I don’t feel like I’m allowed to feel a way.” I felt that.
  • @musajallow6586
Better go back to her because she's the only one who can understand a word you said

As I get older, the only regrets that I have is the times that I didn't speak up. Self-betrayal is harder to get over than anything else in my experience. If you're young and you find yourself kicking yourself in the ass at times for not having said what you should have and could have said when it mattered, start making a habit of standing up in those moments now. That habit of not standing up is hard to break, but conquering it is worth it. The "other person" already has the job of taking care of themself and fulfilling their own desires, you've gotta be there for yourself and do the same, otherwise you will feel your own wrath for putting others before yourself. Who's gonna take care of you and manifesting your desires if not you? Your feelings and desires are just as important as everyone else's, but you've gotta know that for yourself and be willing to stand up for your worth.

Is it me, or do these skin deep videos fly by? These 10 minute videos seems like 2 minutes.
  • They both seem so emotionally mature, and still not over each other. Their relationship, just like many others had flaws and when not dealt with properly and fully, end up imploding.
  • @Dres_Anatomy
She is naturally pretty🌹. What makes her beautiful is you can see how comfortable she is in her skin. That makes her appealing. Its easy to fall for a person like that.
  • @LifeGuru16
Anyone else found it difficult to hear him clearly?

Watching these two interact expanded my mind beyond the lesbian/gay labels when it comes to feminine and masculine energies interacting. There was a part of me that kept nagging me to think he’s soo gay at the beginning. Then she started talking and I got it! They compliment each other so well. He expresses himself in a soft feminine manner, and she is the opposite, but obviously still in touch with her feminine side because she can be vulnerable and cry. Her Yang speaks to his Yin harmonically.

I love the level of vulnerability each and every episode requires. On the surface, it appears two people are just talking but in actuality it's probably one of the most courageous acts on the internet...being open and honest!
  • @kahyangni6808
I'm trying to pay attention but y'all are doing too much in the comments and it's distracting to me
  • @AmariHetep
I was completely confused during that entire second question....it seems like their responses are fragments of a larger discussion. Almost as if there’s a much needed backstory to fully comprehend what they’re saying.
  • @emartins03
As a Black woman and a mom to three young Black women it makes me proud to watch these two very mature and articulate individuals express their feelings. Thanks for sharing this!
  • The only thing that bothers me about this video are the haters. You wouldn’t go up to a person and make rude remarks about their complexion or about their speech. People on the internet just have no boundaries, and no consideration. They’re actual people y’all, with real feelings whether or not they read your comment. Just because they’re not right in front of you doesn’t mean you should and can say rude things freely.
  • @chatp89
Now if he was ashy y’all would also have some to say
  • @OMagnify
What in the neo-soul is going on here???
