Practices for Controlling Pitta

Published 2024-06-28
Today on "5ish Minutes with Dr. Robert," we’re diving into the best practices for controlling Pitta. 🌿🔥

Pitta is intense, so methods to control it should either be equally intense or, preferably, calm and gentle. Focus on cooling and soothing practices to avoid unnecessary intensity. Pitta, made of fire and water, thrives on balance.

To balance Pitta, engage in cooling activities like spending time around water. Diet is crucial too – avoid sour, salty, and spicy foods. Embrace cooling foods like aloe vera and certain herbs. Monitor liver health with dandelion and chicory to keep bile flowing smoothly.

For Pitta individuals, maintaining mental calmness is essential. Stay engaged in non-stimulating activities, wear cool colors, and focus on reducing intensity.

So good. My whole life everyone, including me, thought I was vatta/kapha. Though in reality both of those were reactions/adaptations to my intense pitta. I now know/realize it and understand how to deal with it. Thank you.

  • Namaste ॐ नमः शिवाय, ॐ धन्वंतरीय नमः 🙏🙏 Thank you for sharing your priceless words of wisdom. I have been born and brought in India and from childhood aware of Ayurveda jyotisha, karma yoga etc. I have been fascinated by TCM as instead of working on gross physical elements like pitta, kapha tcm directly works on subtle energy chi (prana). TCM takes care of jing ( ojas ) and shen (tejas ) and chi ( breath flow ) in first 30 seconds of patient diagnostic (the way he walks his aura etc) TCM also has extensively incorporated emotions attached with each organs and interconnectivity of organs. So hidden anger and other agression might cause pitta imbalance (liver chi stagnation or excess liver Yang ) TCM goes to root cause of the issue. Pitta imbalance might be due to breathing issue or gut micro biome disturbances. Ayurvedic approach is extremely slow and by taking some herbs does not address even 25% root cause. Can you pls give more insight on treating diseases by prana alone as akasha and prana holds every power and solution. Quantum mechanics has had glimpse of power of space. Pls forgive me for comparing tcm and ayurveda and my silly comments. Thank you
