Inside the eye wall of Hurricane Michael as it made landfall in Panama City, Florida on October 10, 2018. Michael came ashore as a monster Category-5 storm, with sustained winds of 160mph and gusts over 175mph.

The eye itself passed a few miles east of my location in Panama City, on Mexico Beach.

The full force of the storm went on for an hour, maybe a bit more, as Michael snapped steel poles and forests in half, ripped many neighborhoods to pieces, blew over trains, RVs and semi-trailers, and left a path of destruction in its wake.

Footage featured in coverage on ABC & CBS shows & national / local news, USA Today, NY Times & The Weather Channel (among others).

I thank you for risking your life to film this and post. So glad you weren't harmed.

This was my home town for 27 years. This was horrible. We rode it out in our home in Lynn haven. House was destroyed, but we survived. Thank you for this video.

This was hands down the worst Hurricane that I have ever been through. My sweet little town was devastated!!!! If Hurricane Michael had been a slow moving storm NOTHING would have been left standing. Please pray for all the wonderful people that went through this storm. Thank you and God bless all♡♡♡

You were right down the street, you must of pulled into that CVS around 11am or shortly after and didn’t move!tornados were touching down ripped roof off of a hotel and tossed a few cars and trees around in our neighborhood. It’s crazy how life can change in literally a instant, losing everything then being trapped down there for a week(lots of people longer) with no power or running water,in a place you know you have to leave and relocate and start all over,we moved out of state but kept the 850 area code for a way to remember a town we once called home .

1:20 to 1:35 is crazy. Some of the fastest wind footage I' ve seen. Has to be 150 MPH sustained

3:30 Hurricane Michael wind speed was 155mph; Hurricane Dorian is hitting the Bahamas right now with 185mph!! Can you imagine worse than this? Insane.

That's just wild. You rode out a Cat. 5 hurricane in your car????
  • @Top5DeadOrAlive
My goodness! As you know, the camera does a hurricane no justice as opposed to actually being there. If it looked this bad on camera, it must've been just....just... unimaginable.

As a Floridiot, and seasoned storm survivor/ sufferer, I can give an unequivocal 'Holy S**t!' to this raw footage. No wonder there's still no town anymore in Mexico Beach, just south of here.

The rainfall rates in an eywall nvr fails to stun me everytime I see it.
  • @MaxHeimst
it's astonishing to see how many trees remained standing after this really violent hurricane.
  • This is an amazing video of the storm, but I can't believe you sat out the storm in a car! Pure luck. Anyway, this footage does show the fury of the storm as well as the extent of the damage afterwards. I think the news programs can learn from these types of films. They should just announce what the film is, and then shut up and let the viewers watch. It shows SO much more than any news program did. Thank you for posting and stay safe. You only have so much luck in your life, so maybe be more careful going forward.
  • guys in this video did u noticed one home was in perfect condition where mentioned God bless thats why no damaged but near by all houses are damaged 🤔
  • @leaf2180
