In this edition of #thedailydoug, I'm listening to the new song, Ratatata, by BabyMetal and Electric Callboy. I've heard both of these pop sensations only once before on the channel, and it was a very fun and groovy experience to hear them collaborating on this song. It's a real roller coaster ride!

  • "Man...We love those girls. What started out as a collaboration, turned into just...love." - Kevin, on stage, after playing with BM on stage most recently :)

Not only is my 7yo daughter in love with this song, I've never seen her love dancing so much.
  • BabyMetal was interviewed on their recent European tour, and if I understood correctly...: BabyMetal was writing a song in the style of Electric Callboy's "We Got The Moves" - and called Electric Callboy for the collaboration... and here we are. Definitely has the same musical form that Electric Callboy frequently uses - as well as the infectious earworms and total smiles. Fun song!
  • @Silber7
There were a few festivals this summer where both bands were on the bill - and they both played this song, each featuring the other as guests 😅

Add BabyMetal - Monochrome live and Electric CallBoy - We got the moves. The EC song is up to something crazy like 53 million plays.
  • @Nocturn-al
since you are a prog fan, I'd suggest Babymetal -> Tales of the destinies 2016 live tokyo dome. The song is a nod to Dream Theatre. You will love it.

I went to see BabyMetal, when they toured Australia last year, they were bloody amazing. Walking around Melbourne after the show, there were BabyMetal T-shirts everywhere, and everyone was just smiling and talking to complete strangers about how awesome the show was. I would recommend seeing them live to anyone!

You absolutely have to check out Baby Metal's piano version of 'Monochrome.' Genuinely one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've heard in recent memory
  • Okay, I'm a metal head, and I love classic rock as well.... I"m TOTALLY SOLD on this group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • @sharpvamp

  • @Spudzilla5656
Oh boy do I love BabyMetal. I think a great exhibition of the Kami Band is the song 'Catch Me If You Can' from their official Youtube channel
  • @traylor2502
I liked it when you to tried to dissect this song, minor and major chords. It's always fun when a pro does it. Here's a challenge for you. Try to guess the time signature in the following song. Babymetal - Tales of the Destinies (Tokyo Dome Live 2016) Eng Subs
  • That the lyrical line (repeated a few times) when EC blasts through walls is "my body is a weapon" kills me every time!😂😂😂
  • @ericg.43
'Infectious': there is not a single bettter word to describe Baby Metal. Nice dance moves 🦊
  • @PlezurBazar
Both of these bands know how to build the sound of joy into their music. I think you should do BABYMETAL's "TALES OF THE DESTINIES". It has so many time signature changes that one would have a hard time learning it, yet they perform it with mind-blowing precision. Kitsune dao!
