I actually am fortunate enough to live at the base of the park just out side of the sunrise entrance. Love it here

I spent the summers of my youth in the North Cascades. I traveled up and down Ross Lake in a boat.

Hoping to go to those 3 National Parks once the weather gets a bit warmer. Can't wait. Also, there's a temperate rainforest in the Southern Appalachians in the Eastern US, around Western North Carolina and below (so not the only one in the US).

Crystal Mountain Ski Resort has a gondola that offers awesome views of the mountain at the top.

To bad you didn't head south to leave the area and stop at Lake Quinault. At the east end of the lake is the world's largest spruce tree, and you can basically drive right to it. I went the long way and it was only 3/10 mile. Can't believe you did that in 3 days. 1st time viewer. Well done.👍

Also a shame you were fogged in at Kerry Park... it’s my favorite view in Seattle. Cool pictures at night too.. I wish I could take pics like that on my iPhone

If you comeback trying to hike the Enchantments above Leavenworth Washington. You will need to enter in the lottery that happens in February to try and get a permit or hope you can get several permits they give away each day at the Leavenworth Ranger Station at 7:30 in the morning. The 22 mile hike through The Upper Core of the Enchantments is one of the best hikes in Washington State. I have hiked it many times and never get tired of it.

Have hiked extensively in all three parks since moving here from the east coast 31 years ago. I would not want to live anywhere else. I will admit I like North Cascades National Park and all the Wilderness and recreational areas through the this area since it doesn't get have the visitors of the other park and because I live closest to it.
