With the introduction of Sigma, many players both pro and casual alike were uncertain how the addition of a Tank with a mobile shield and built-in Defense Matrix would be able to impact the state of Overwatch as the meta was only just beginning to define itself following the implementation of 2-2-2 role queue.

While Stage 4 of the Overwatch League was riddled with a mix of Reaper/Mei, snipers and almost a bit too much of the Orisa/Roadhog combo, the OWL playoffs saw a new meta take over with Sigma being played in every game to date, Double Shield.

i mean i love to play sigma but being against double shield is so frustrating. i mean at least with goats you could feel like you were doing something. shooting shields all day long ain't a transcendent gameplay

I think Sigma’s shield should be made more like a Winston bubble, where it’s not as good as a main shield

Besides bastion it makes true hitscan heroes nearly unplayable, which is why we are seeing a lot of reaper who can risk pushing in with doomfist nearly every game in OWL. Personally not a fan even as a tank main
