Sci-Fi Short Film: "This Time Away" (Starring Timothy Spall) | DUST

I am already a sucker for "grumpy old person learns to not be grumpy anymore" stories, and then that ending hit. I enjoyed this very much.

It's great to see seasoned actors support the short films.

That ending really made the entire film

The only bad thing about these short films is the short part, so good I didn't want it to end

A great story that turns a full circle. She's a 'maker', learned by watching him in the workshop as a child, and followed that lead by making a toy (Max) for him to be entertained by.

What a magnificent portrayal of love. He pushes her away because he doesn't want her to see him like that. She loves him unconditionally through it all. He begins to find life again. And in the subtle nuances of the performance the viewer knows he never stopped loving her, and needs her just as much as she needs him. Honestly, this is the best thing I've watched in as long as I can remember. My 6 year old daughter is asleep in the next room and I just want to go give her a big hug. Excuse me, I think there's something in my eye....

Nigel‘s tinker toys helped him bond with her when she was a child...And Louises’ tinker toy helped them reconnect later on...absolutely beautiful

A cool twist in the last 10 seconds, brilliant, Timothy Spall, couldn't put a foot wrong as far as acting goes in my eyes, best 14mins spent in a long time, thank you to everyone involved

Ol' Tim is a good actor.

Timothy Spall is one of the world’s greatest living actors. And this is the best short I’ve ever seen.

I worked with Timothy Spall on Electric Dreams episode 3. A small man with a big personality. This is quite a moving film which he embraces with such professionalism and heart.

This is such a gentle tale of a man who regains himself bit by bit with a help of a loved one whom he pushed away... well done. :)

Cried for the last 5 minutes, with a stupid grin on my face. Absolutely brilliant. Thanks :)

As one gets older we can appreciate the simple sensitivity of shorts like this more.

one of the only Dust movies i have seen that doesnt leave me feeling miserable, a truly happy tale, most enjoyable

More character development than the last few Star Wars movies... beautiful.

I always hope that AI could be like little Max. A companion like this would be invaluable to us older folks & other people who can't easily get out & meet people.

Goes to show, a really great film doesn't have to be mega million dollar, two hour extravaganzas. Just a great story, a great actor and well filmed to do them both justice.

Okay Dust. You got me with this one. Brought a tear to my eye. Incredible production - and all about love. The daughter was looking out for him all along, and she succeeded in turning his life around for the better. Yup, there go my tears again 🥲
