Thanks for the refresher! I had an EGR issue on my Camry 2.2 liter. Vacuum killed the engine so good there. Vacuum was created upon idling up at the modulator, so good there. Applied 12v to the VSV no click and vacuum didn't drop, emptied my pockets and problem solved.
  • Thanks! Yeah at first was over my head, but with your explanation my head caught up to it. Thanks again!
  • excellent job.... the explanation of how a system works was a bonus.
  • Great explanation of issues with EGR . Really appreciate the video Les.
  • After watching two videos from 10 years ago. Well done at continuing the channel and improvements in focus and sharpness. I'm struggling to pass emissions test in Maryland. 2009 VW rabbit with faulty secondary air injection system sensor. After watching this video I now have a better idea of how one can trash a perfectly good car with no issues because of not being able to pass emissions test. Just paid $200 to be quoted $1400 to repair.
  • Good engineer , congratulations. I work for Avianca, and i live in Sarasota Florida, thanks for great information
  • I had a GM engine reporting EGR that eventually proved to be an intake manifold gasket leak. It took only a moment speaking to a competent mechanic to learn that it was a known issue with my engine, but not before a "GM certified mechanic" had soaked me for a fortune, giving the car back with "did all I could, hope that helps" and clearly knowing he was taking the easy money and too lazy to do the real job. Charged me full extension price on OEM egr valve that was clearly not needed. He belongs in jail. And for what it's worth, spraying to seek vacuum leaks was not effective because there was so little access beneath the plenum.
