Fats: It’s the New Year. You’ve eaten your own body weight in turkey. But with thousands of diets out there – and a baffling minefield of information and misinformation about how to lose weight – where do you start? ‘Diet Secrets and How To Lose Weight’ will do it’s best to help to help you beat the Christmas bulge, giving you the skinny on what’s making us fat - and how to successfully be the size you’ve always wanted to be. This week we look at Fats, formerly a demon of the dieting world but now being reassessed by dietitians.

A major cause of weight gain is an energy imbalance – basically eating more calories than we burn – and that imbalance causes our bodies to store fat, and the fat we eat contains more calories per gram than any other food so it should be simple - eat less fat and lose weight - right? I've been keto, carnivore for over thirty years and wouldn't change my diet for anything. I'm seventy-two now and will live this way for the rest of my life. It's the best food in the world.
  • The so called ketoflu is because you must up the electrolytes. Bear in mind that 1 g of carbohydrate binds about 3 or 4 grams of water. But a vegetarian probably make it more difficult, nuts tend to be a triggerfood for a lot of people, yet still, there are no essential carbohydrates unless you are a type 1 diabetic on insulinpump or have an extremely rare genetic disease (porfyri in swedish).

Add as many healthy wholefoods into your diet dont focus so much on reducing "bad" bc most of the time youll start craving foods that make u feel good instead and over time youll feel nourished and will have an easier time to say no to the hyper-palatable foods.

Watch your sugar and carb intake is a good place to start
  • I worked in food service for years and I had one manager that was introducing a frozen yogurt desert, and he told us that they knew it was not healthy. We told to promote it as if it were healthy. If they found anyone telling the truth about this food, that employee would potentially be fired.

I love all these women that think they know it all at the age of thirty.

This "KETO" is natural food, that's the only way you can see it. No junk food, no supermarket additives. No crap of any kind.

To much showing food on the documentary, as a person on a diet its hard to watch this and stay full / satisfied. The video makes you more hunger😅😅😅

It's a sad and confusing ending to video. It gives you the impression that if you ask for help from a professional it will get you to your goal of using weight. Which is not true. They also do alot of try and fail on you. And you might lose your patience of keep trying new regims before you even get any results.

Have a test and documentary on carnivore diet.
  • I wish you guys chosen little better person as a min subject of the documentary........" Person do not know much but to say. "Rally-Really- to Infinity".... check it... .
  • It’s a great shame that the keto dieter was not advised properly. All she needed was some additional salt and no headaches, lethargy, muscle aches etc. Had you consulted a Dr who understands this type of diet, then it would have made her life so much easier. I hate to say it but your ‘experts’ need to be a little more widely read as their understanding is fairly limited to traditional training which we now know is anchored in the low fat paradigm!

Stay away from sodas, carbohydrates, dairy. Basically drink water, eat rice cakes 😅

All the past low-fat diet pushers are now becoming the plant-based diet pushers (vegans). I do the keto lifestyle and I’m content and feel great.

Trans fats do occur in nature in meat and dairy products.

It's vegetables that make you fart, so why she's blaming animals and eggs for farting I can't imagine. I'm a carnivore and only ever fart if I suddenly decide to take on a vegetable on the rare occasion that I have. After all, it's cows that fart and what do they eat?
