The bedrock on that side of the dam appears to be gone and the river has changed course. The power of water is amazing.

Click Bait: "Home falls into Blue Earther River" and then have no footage of home falling into Blue Earth River.

partial failure??? um, am I missing something?
  • The landscape is changing right before our very eyes, and there's nothing we can do about it.
  • Stop saying the dam is more than 100 years old. Does this mean it suppose to happen. 😂😂😂😂
  • The rest of the dam isn't going to "fail". It's irrelevant now. It will have to be taken down and probably never replaced.
  • I am just a common old lady, but my common sense is suggesting that they blow up the dam. The dam is changing the course of the river. Water will continue to chew away at soil until it hits solid rock.

The water level has dropped way down since Monday..

Its the Dam Store. They serve Dam burgers and Dam pie.
  • Mother nature and common sense would say, don't build a home next to a dam.

1 year old or a 100 years old .....If it hadn't plugged up with debris probably would have been fine.
  • Good thing we’re giving money to foreign countries, instead of fixing our infrastructure.

Spend money fixing dams instead of changing flags and pride month.

How horrific for that family to watch their home slowly slip away (or not so slowly once it gave way). It seemed like they were fortunate to have some time to get stuff out, but hopefully they were able to fully move out before it was swept away.

Poor condition on the dam? Seems like the earth failed not the dam. I would say 114yo Engineering -1 Bedrock -0
