Not at all surprised to see these results. Kipruto just beat Kipchoge in Boston- why wouldn’t he beat him again? Kipchoge is the GOAT but to think that he can maintain his supremacy indefinitely is totally unrealistic. There are now a whole bunch of young hungry runners coming up who are just faster. Good for Kipchoge for finishing. He is a true role model for the sport.

Hes mentoring future Kenyans to reach high heights. If he keeps winning how will future athlete be motivated to win. Hes gonna win his last Olympics.

Benson Kipruto is not that unknown before this race he had won 2 major marathons. They started of fast but Eliud is getting older and with age you also get more little pains. The marathon is unpredictable and I would not be surprised if Eliud experienced some kind of discomfort and with age this is likely to happen more often.

Benson Kiprouto won Boston 2 years in a row and New York City Marathon too. He is well known in the US and around marathon runners.

Eliud is human he can also have of days. The winning time was great dont take anything away from Benson because he actually broke Eliud's course record.

The 1st 5km in tokio is negative gradient, and in my opinion, kipchoge used this marathon has a training session before the Olympics. It's sad to see that most of the people talk about kipchoge staying behind, and Benson victory and a new tokio marathon record is not the big news... So, go Benson, go!!! Great work from this runner.
  • Passing of the torch, nobody has dominated the marathon like kipchoge has, but now he’s no longer even top 3 In the world based on his average last 3 marathon times. He ran higher than the Olympic standard in Boston and finished 10th in Tokyo. He’s averaging almost 2:06 per marathon right now and has lost 2 of his last 3. Father Time struggled with him, but will always be victorious.
  • We should all remember that after the death of Kelvin people talked so much negativities about Eliud that must have affected him big.
  • @Herloss2023
Why is everybody saying Kipchoge is on a decline when he just won in Berlin less than 6 months ago
  • @ahuachapan2
Flash News!: Kipchoge's right nut increase weight over night. That cause stride inbalance. What a champion.
  • @Durome02
People keep using his “old age” as an excuse. He’s still doing better than 95% of people who are way younger than him.
  • @And-rc9yy
I suspect the real reason Eliud struggled was down to all the negativity he received from Kenyans surrounding the death of Kelvin.

What year is this footage taken?

Кипчоге достоин уважения за прошлые заслуги и за то, что он не бросает дело, которое любит. Тем более, такую тяжелую дистанцию. В его возрасте кто быстрее него бегал, интересно

At 39 I think Kipchoge has passed his prime. He has a long illustrious career is the undisputed marathon GOAT. He has raised the standard of this event and no doubt inspired many younger talent to emulate his success. I hope he keeps running for health and enjoyment.
