  • 2019 - i have 57 years and I still think this is one of the best songs ever written. Damn this drive, the voice and the guitar and bass - absolute masterpiece. Thank you guys!

This song is a perfect example of why I love TFF. It's like an exhilarating thrill ride that has a million twists and turns. At the end of the ride, you want to get back on it and ride some more.

Bless em....they were never were really rock'n'roll?, just a smoke screen, they never trashed hotel rooms, never did drugs, never abused alcohol. never swore in public, never fucked around on tour etc etc BUT they were, and always will be the most talented pair of musicians the UK has ever produced , I absolutely love TFF
  • I bought this CD and was blown away by the production quality (especially considering that it came out in 1989). The Swords and Knives/Year Of The Knife combo ranks right up there with the best stuff I've ever listened to.

This album, this song is from is one of the most overlooked of the whole 1980’s. TFF created a rock solid album, where there are no filler tracks. This song is totally full on and musicianship. You just have to look at the sleeve notes it’s a who’s who of session musicians/vocalists. Tessa Niles, Carol Kenton for starters. Bizarrely, the album going on sales figures sold something like 4 million. It was considered not that successful WTAF. A timeless album that I turn to time and again.

One of the most beautyful albums from the 90s.
  • Hallelujah, the king is dead. He said "Love was the knife " And now he'll dream some magic queen might try and save his life They say his famous final words Came from the heart of the man He made his bed on love denied He played Jeckyll and Hyde till the day he died Too late for the young gun To lead a simple life Too late for the young gun This is the year of the knife See the mountains crumble Feel the fire go cold Summer will turn to winter Love will turn to stone They say his famous final words Came from the heart of man I made his bed on love denied Now I ain't gonna sleep tonight Too late for the young gun To lead a simple life Too late for the young gun This is the year of the knife

Apparently Dave Grohl reached out to Roland Orzabal in the early 90's, he was a massive fan, just shows you how influential TFF were back then. I've recently revisited the 'Sowing the Seeds of Love' album, it's a flawless masterpiece 30 years later and it hasn't aged at all, this track sounds incredible when cranked right up 😁
  • I usually listen to Hip hop and RnB. But, this, let me tell you. When I ride mountains my snowboard straped, listenning to this song,as Nicolas Muller would say, "It feels like flying ".I m closer from the Angels than I could ever be. πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜

Fantastic. Sounds even better today than it did when I first listened to it back in 1989. Memories fade but the sounds still linger.
