My Problems With Street Fighter 6 - Season 2

I think Terry and Mai being there makes sense because of Fatal Fury on the horizon. (Haohmaru was added when SamSho was in vogue alongside 2B of all characters and Geralt). But yeah, it would’ve been nice to see others take the spotlight. It’s also kinda crazy to see 2 guests in one pass which is many people’s problem. Personally, I am just happy because I think we might get a CvS collection at some point because of this xD

Terry and Mai are pretty much the Ryu and Chun Li of SNK, with Terry having the most guest appearances in other media with Mai being the second. But I agree that SNK should give other characters the spotlight of being guess characters of other games.

I thought the biggest issue was Mai making it over May Lee?

I'll be honest I don't hate this new season 2 dlc as much but a little disappointed in some areas with it. Like having Terry & Mai is actually great and it's the first time in Street Fighter's history did do guest characters in their game. Tho I hoping this is a recurring thing for I feel people will get even more upset if season 3 were to introduce even more guest characters if not from KOF but other games. My main issue is with Bison for I don't hate him particularly for I do like his playstyle and design look for him(even the new one) but it's mostly his background lore around him. Like this character dies multiple times throughout the franchise and keeps coming back and that Nash's sacrifice to killing him(again) was in vain. To make matters worse is that of Ryu's progression to finally achieved the power of nothingness and use it against Bison only to as the name implies do nothing to kill Bison once and for all. I kinda wish they did in the route of Reina in Tekken 8 and have like an reincarnation of the character but with a different person. As in they're are a different person and has Bison moves, that way Bison spirit will live on through them but sadly that's not the case.

In all seriousness, Iori and Leona (with Orochi forms) would've been sick. Leona deserves her flowers for being no. 2/3 (?) SNK gal

Capcom attempted to pull a RBFF with Bison in SFV and it failed spectacularly. Bison staying dead would have been more of a surprise.

I honestly feel you on the M. Bison section of the video, I really wanted them to commit to a cannon death. When JP was first leaked then announced, I thought it was the perfect stand in for Bison in the story. But nah, couldn’t really count on that I guess. Honestly his trailer made me slightly optimistic, hell I was even feeling the music. Also judging from what they have in store for his story, I don’t think he’ll be the final boss again (thank god)

I’m annoyed we’re only getting these 4 until 2026 bruh

Having Terry in the game is something I wanted, but I didn't ever expect it. Like it would never happen. And seeing Terry in every game is something I'm here for 100%. I'm so glad they didn't go with Iori, Kyo, or anyone else but Terry. I'll die on this hill.

The problem with your Bison critique is that none of the characters you named are as iconic as he is in Street Fighter. I have a book published by Capcom and they detail how they choose what characters get put into the games. Popularity is a big factor in character choice for them. EDIT: the book is called “How to make capcom fighting characters” for anyone interested.

Street Fighter being photorealistic(with stylistics) and having guests is absolutely paying of in this day and age. Especially considering Tekken and Mortal Kombat seem like they're bigger than Street Fighter like the 2000's. Kyo and Leona could be in Fortnite.

The snk guest characters were a welcome surprise for sf6 but I agree that having something outside the box would have been more interesting personally I feel someone like Shermie would've been cool to see in street fighter

Everyone's missing the point. 4 characters is unacceptable...especially when 2 of them are guest characters
