As a child, growing up in the 80's in Ireland, the name Eric Bristow was very popular over here too. He was like a household name and everyone loved him. Condolences to family/friends. John.

And a special shoutout to the two players who kept on playing at the time Eric's passing was announced, Peter Wright and Daryl Gurney, both visibly shaken, and I personally gotta feel Gurney, it wouldn't be easy to him for such a tragic thing to happen on the same day his baby was born... RIP Eric Bristow, legends never die and you certainly were one...

Staying only 5 miles away from Jocky back in the day I loved to hate Eric as a player, wasn't until later in life I appreciated how good he was and hearing him talk so highly of Jocky is brilliant, he was notably the only old school player to attend Jockys farewell, rest easy Eric

Without any doubt he was & always will be remembered as the king of darts, RiP Eric 😭🇬🇧 they say no one person is bigger than there sport, I believe Eric was & he will never be forgotten.

I was speaking to Eric in Blackpool a few weeks before he died he was a gentleman . Never changed all these years just a lovely man. RIP David from Scotland
