    Quick tip you can get the scent hidden buff by just pressing b anywhere so it helps in ambushing others and when a meteor shower comes up run around in circles trust me it helps because the meteors predict where your gonna move towarss but if you run around in circles you wont get hit also another thing you can get up from sleeping very quickly if you double tap r or sit button you will get up almost instantly and use strafe when fighting its ur best tool for fighting against equal ground foes

    Yo johnny you should hide your scent with mud more often cause it makes ambushing and health regen better also theres a emote that allows you to do a weaker mud roll.

    If your good at skulderouge you can beat almost anything and a tip is don't mainly use your breath bites do way more damage and do more status effects

    by the way you can press control or "ctrl" to strafe, itll allow you to deal with players that you cant hit as easy, however the game is much more fun for me when i dont use it during fighting. edit: however strafing does make it much easier to fight, like the lerachu that killed you, you probably wouldve won if you strafed, allowing you to either get behind it or not get hit by it as much. so i recommend strafing when you strictly need to use it, or to get out of water
