Chris Rea is the genius from Middlesbrough in Northern England. His voice is pure smog monster.
  • @psiclone23
“Fool If You Think It’s Over” was his biggest hit, and “On The Beach” is another very good one by him.
  • @RushfanUK
Chris Rea a phenomenal guitarist and song writer from the North East of England, he has battled serious illness to continue to perform and produce his music, I've been lucky to see him live several times and he is just brilliant.
  • @Opalmizer
Chris Rea has never done a US tour; he say's he's famous enough. Great music!!!
  • Inspired to write this after getting stuck in a traffic jam for several hours on the M25 outside London, I’m so glad you covered the whole song including the beautiful bluesy opening. Gotta say guys I’ve watched tons of your reactions and this for me is your best! If you wanna carry on down the Chris Rea rabbit hole then I’d highly recommend Looking for a Rainbow. Or being Americans the track Texas might hit the right note. For the record Mr Rea is the best slide guitarist I’ve seen live. He was simply amazing.

Chris wrote this plays lead guitar and lead singer. He has one heck of a back catalogue. He so underrated writer and has to be one of the top guitarists in the world and that voice is haunting. In the last few years he has overcome cancer several times and he is still out onstage doing his thing. He won’t be beaten and this was written when he was stationary on the m25 circular around london uk

I love the way the lady is getting into it. She shows true enjoyment.
  • 1989. Bought this on Tape. Played it to death. It wore out. The entire album of the same name is incredible. Chris Rea is from Middlesbrough in North East England. He’s not only a great songwriter but great painter too.
  • @walshaw2
" Stainsby Girls." and " Fool if You Think It's Over." are songs that further highlight Chris Rhea's talent.

I'm past 40, listenning to Chris Rea since i'm a kid, thanks to my parents.. this artist is one bloody master piece on it's own. Never get bored of those songs. Road to hell is an absolute perfection. That guitar sound, this pressure maintaind along the song. Amazing.

Man, the first time I heard this back in the 90's, sent chills up and down my spine! The whole, Road to Hell album is fire. It's a mood setter for sure.
  • @trjbrew
From the same album, you have to hear "Texas". I was working in radio when it came out, very few had heard of Chris and the request lines went crazy.
  • @Cadinho93
Chris Rea recorded a series of wonderful albums, some great songs on them. "On the Beach", "The Road to Hell", "Auberge", "God's Great Banana Skin", "The Blue Cafe" are just a few albums well worth looking into. His unique vocals also added another dimension to his music. Also, I always thank my Dad for who brought me up with his music. I always felt that Chris Rea is one of the most underrated artists of all time, with so many timeless songs.

This ain't no technological breakdown... love that line ..
  • I absolutely love the fact that you have discovered Chris Rea. He is one of the most underrated artist. Please check out his song fool if you think it’s over. It’s a love ballad but Jay I know you will absolutely love it. I’m sure Amber will.
  • His main song is Fool If You Think It's Over. Great tune.
  • "Texas" from the same album is another Chris Rea song that's great. Thanks for playing this. Haven't listened to Chris in a long time.
  • @franky4318
Chris Rea , what a voice , what an intimate experience with his guitar. Absolutely amazing.
  • @TheNotedHero
"On The Beach" is a super laid-back vibe from him - to add a third flavour of him to the Christmas fun and darkness of this song. Definitely worth checking out!
