Author T.J. Newman wrote her debut novel 'Falling' while working as a flight attendant. She had little luck pitching her book to publishers until one finally took a chance, and the book debuted at number two on the NYT bestseller's list. 'Falling' is set to be a major motion picture. Newman's second novel 'Drowning' is now out, and she joins Morning Joe to discuss.

As a writer in L A, it was known that selling a spec script was harder than winning the lottery! It was good if you already had a book audience to sell movie tickets. Congratulations! 👏

Never underestimate the lady who passes out the beer and peanuts. 👍

What a beautiful recount of your efforts TJ. God Bless you in your exciting future as a successful writer!

Its ironic this comes up today. Forty years ago today Air Canada flight 797 made it to the runway in Cincinatti Ohio. An emergency landing because there was a fire onboard. And the greatest voice in Canadian music ended...

I'm always glad to see writers getting their books published. Maybe one day I'll get lucky like that too. And if not, at least I can say I tried. :)

Wow!❤❤❤ I needed to hear this. 41 rejections? I need to not give up!🙏🙏🙏

Make a deal, DACA for ending chain migration and greencard lottery , give them the opportunity not the extended family create a point/merit based immigration system as in Australia/Canada without any access to welfare.

Wonderful story within a story. The book, 41 rejections, and her persistence. I'm not going to read either one or see the movies,, because the next time a fly, every single, terrifying scene will be running on the screen behind my eyes. The older I get, the more I'm afraid of flying. Please accept my apologies. I just can't do it.

Do you think the cameras picked up Hillary and Gavin Newsome placing those sandbags on stage yesterday?
  • What about your agent? That seems like the only way to get publishers to even look at a book.

“If you don’t faceplant like me then you AINT A BLACK BREAKFAST TACO !!!” Signed ~Taliban Joe Brandon
  • The problem with believing this story is she says she sent the manuscript directly to publishers. Any comments?

How does a book "DEBUT" at number one? I see that all the time, but never understood that concept. If it just comes out, doesn't it take a sec to get to number one, or is that printed on the second and subsequent printing?

Brandon barely got up from this one. Kamel Toe was like 🤞🏻 ITS MY TURN💃🏽👏

Our Geriatric In Chief Brandon took a nose dive yesterday at the Air Farce Academy Pass & Review and msdnc didn't even cover it?! 🤣
