Julian Assange is travelling to his native Australia on a private jet after US authorities agreed to drop their demand for the WikiLeaks founder to be extradited from the UK having struck a plea deal with him.

Once the guilty plea has been accepted by a judge, the 52-year-old will be free to return to Australia, the country of his birth.

Shame on the US, UK and Australia for the terrible way in which they treated Assange. War criminals run free while Julian has suffered like no other for exposing the truth.
  • @hourbee5535
The way he exposed American and British crimes is simply legendary.

One Correction" Julian didn't STEAL the documents he was GIVEN THEM.
  • Julian was a publisher. He didn't commit a crime. He published evidence of criminality.
  • @Maelstromaku
The fact he even had to deal with all this is insane ,a lot of people need to answer for this

I like him. He's smart, articulate, and seems to have been motivated by a good heart. I hope that he will have a double measure of peace, happiness, and the warmth of being surrounded by loved ones.

Assange is a hero. An award winning journalist. A truth teller. A absolute legend and champion of press freedom and freedom of speech who exposed the criminality and atrocities committed by the US NATO Empire during their illegal invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan that left nearly a million dead. He took on the criminal oligarchs of the US military industrial complex and the British establishment that were determined to kill him and he survived their slow crucifixion. I hope he and his family live in peace and let this be a stark warning for the rest of us in the collective west that if the American CIA had got their way then anyone speaking out against the transnational security elite would've been locked up in the Guantanamo of Britain under their fascistic rule.
  • It was to avoid extradition to Sweden that he went into the Ecuadorian Embassy, not the US. Sloppy journalism that could've been remedied with a Google search
