Jay Leno Discusses His Burn Treatment

Jay just keeps moving forward and has mastered the ability to be famous and not care.

Every time Jay talks about, "No, I have to go home to my wife first." it damn near busts me out in tears because I get it. She's the most important person in your life and you would never leave her alone as you go into the hospital. Jay, you are a hell of a fine human being. I always wondered how Jay didn't burn his lungs and Niki Lauda, God Rest His Soul, gave Jay the idea to hold his breath so the flames wouldn't burn his lungs. What an amazing thought process in the middle of his face being on fire. And Dave, his good friend stepped right into the flames to help save his life. Like many people think worldwide, Jay is like family to me. We see in him what we hope we can inspire in others. Jay just keeps on inspiring. You Go Jay.

Jay is one of the kindest people ever. He gave us a tour of his garage several years ago. We wish him the best.

Jay Leno is incredibly lucky!! It's amazing how easygoing he is about this!! He must have a high pain threshold tolerance too, besides being a genuinely talented stand up comic/writer/host. I had seen his stand-up act in Vegas years ago and it was top tier!! :) I believe it was at Ceasars or the Mirage (one of those huge venues) and he just killed it!! He didn't even have to insult anyone! ;) He just has a natural charisma, stage presence, SUPERIOR comedic chops, a chill and witty demeanor, etc. Jay was ALWAYS the real deal. A class act too. Everyone's very happy to see him healing so miraculously and courageously! I have to state this again: Jay Leno is a fine example of a genuinely gifted stand-up comedian, writer and talk show host. He's also a class act - a classy man. Xoxo to him and his family.

Jay, I got burned in my face from a flameout from my blackstone griddle while camping in the middle of nowhere this summer and had 1st degree burns. It was hours to the nearest burn center and I ended up doing like you and sleeping it off. I was nowhere near the same severity, but I saw it coming just like you and closed my eyes and held my breath too and that avoided a lot of issues. Best wishes in your healing and it’s great you have such a sense of humor about it.

Say him the Sunday before his accident at the Hermosa Comedy Club; what a treasure of a human. He's been a part of my life since I was 4 when he used to sub for Johnny Carson back in the day.

I can’t think of a celebrity more loved than Jay. He’s a a guy I feel like I could run into at a Starbucks and say hi, and he would say hello back. He’s not pretentious, not egotistical, and seems like a really nice guy.
