In this video I show you how to remove my side moldings from my 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500hd Duramax aka my Grandpa Truck was showing some wear on the door molding. My truck is actually a 2007.5 GMC Sierra. So I purchased a rubber eraser from amazon a little skeptical and tried it out. Turns out, it worked great! This diy is great if you're looking to remove your door trim for some better styling or if your door molding has just sun faded or cracked or just plain looks terrible. The rubber eraser works magic! I love the way my GMC Sierra looks now. I got some style points with just a little under 1.5hrs of work. Definitely worth it! This how to video will work on any car or truck really. But this video pertains to GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado specifically.

Nothin like cracking open a beer and getting behind the wheel of an automobile. Awesome video, thank you for the tips!

Everyday for a week before you do this spray a bead of orange oil (goo gone) down in the crack between the top of the molding and the door for the entire length of the trim piece, this will soften at least the top strip of adhesive and may even soak through to the lower one...cuts the job in half...

I’m about to get a new truck and I’m gonna do this to it. This video was very helpful and I appreciate it!

I followed his instructions and my '06 looks great now!! This guy rocks!
-
Now that's how u supposed to start a video, popping open a brewski 💪

Nicely done! I like your eraser wheel better than mine! When I de-badged my '06 D-Max, I used 30 pound test mono fishing line to get under the badging; using a back-forth stroke to get them off. (Badging??....I don't need no Badging!) And used an eraser wheel to remove glue. Door bump guards are next, but will be replacing those. 🤟

So I watched a YouTube on how to fix the molding, then I watched yours how to take them off. I proceeded to rip them off my 2009 Silverado, so easy. I also used a razor blade to take the thick part of the two way adhesive tape before using acetone and then the power eraser. Thanks for the instruction. Looks so much better.

I’m in the midst of trying to figure out what to do with my annoying moldings that are peeling off of my avalanche. started cleaning them where they r peeling but i think i might just get that tool for the drill and do what you did and just be done with em for good🤷🏻♂️😂 thanks for the vid🤟🏽

Definitely make sure you have a beer before attempting this, that is the key😂😂😂😂

Beer break. Yep I’m in the right place!!!

Did this to my tahoe and suburban thanks homie💯👍

My silver trim has yellowed like yours. I’m ordering that eraser today.

Ton of editing in the beginning, nice work! Great how to bro 👍
-
Thanks homie! I appreciate this video

Great job! That will really help someone make their truck look cooler! Resist the urge to put huge wheels and tires on if your going to tow a lot up hills...you’ll kill your mileage and your transmission! Grandpa trucks are reliable!
