Bravo Mark, what a terrific shave. It is noted that the head of the R41 seems almost identical to that of my Parker 24C. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar observation. Beyond that, the shave was very smooth and your advice about lightning up on the touch is well received at this end. I find that this helps with my 24C as well. I enjoyed your recent MMM and have not purposely been off the radar. Actually, I have seen pieces of many of your videos in last few weeks; just haven't signed in..will work to do better in 2023. I would like to agree with something that you like to point out quite often, i.e., that you've got great subscribers. Even without specific authority from the group, I am quite comfortable in saying that we all of us appreciate your energy and willingness to share your time and expertise. Of course, it is also fun, instructive and entertaining. Simply said, thank you. By the way, congratulations in advance for approaching 9K subscribers. That's enough preaching for one day...you have my compliments, kindest personal regards and best wishes for the holidays. Happy Days! Charles K.

Hi Mark- Great shave with the Muhle R41; thank you! You definitely dialed-in all the variables that could cause problems when shaving with this razor; kudos! I hope you have a great rest of the week. Be safe and be well. All the best, Mark! 🎄

Hey Mark! I just shaved with my r41 last night. I got an incredible shave without a nick! I learned the hard way years ago how to use this razor properly. I used a Gillette 365 blade and man was it smooth for me!! I used Muhle shave cream too! This is a very aggressive razor, but when used with caution and good technique, it is so efficient!! Glad to see you got thru your shave very well! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
  • I'm Two big Dude Barbus. Great shave Master specialist shaving. Mark Merry Christmas and Happy New year everyone!

Morning Mark. Thanks for taking one for the team so to speak, in using an aggressively known razor. I have a couple of aggressive razors and only use them occasionally. I don't see a need to chance tearing yourself up just to prove you can use it. I like shaving and don't want to change that. Newbies should know they can enjoy this task with equipment they can rely on to give a good smooth shave. Have a nice weekend and Merry Christmas to all.
  • Hi Mark, I was always concerned about trying the R41 because of its reputation. Guess what, now it is one if my favorite razors. Even though it is aggressive, I end up with little or no irritation. Reason is that I have no need to go over problem areas over and over again. Have a Merry Christmas. Best regards, Glenn

Hello Mark. The aggressivityof the r41 had a development. The original first OC head was re-selled Merkur head (call it #0). Later Mühle developed it's own r41 head. This #1 and a bit later #2 were much more aggressive than later #3 and today's #4. This infos come from one German wet shaving internet forum. The exact years of bringing of concrete heads on the market can be found on the internet. Have a great shave and keep making your videos. Greetings from the Czech Republic.

One of my fave razors. It's fantastic. Everyone should have one in their armoury if they can.
  • Loving the Cube 2.0 I ordered from Phoenix shaving after seeing you use it. Amazing the difference with any brand lather cream or soap.
  • It's a great razor. I started wet shaving with a 30s Gillette open comb in brass. The r41 is more chill than the old timer. Feather blades gave me an efficient, close, and comfortable shave.

Wonderful shave Mark! Glad you were able to use the R411 without a problem. I have the R102 (R41) and I agree that it's not an everyday razor. I have used Feather blades and I didn't have a problem shaving my face or dome. I didn't have the trepidation using that combo because I use straights and shavettes and that's as aggressive as I can get. Lol! Again, have yourself a Merry Christmas!

The R41 was one of the earlier razors I bought during my wet shaving journey. I never had an issue with it and thought it’s aggressiveness was over stated. Later I purchased the stainless steel version and thought that it was a bit more aggressive. I don’t know why, maybe the heavier weight. I find that the more aggressive the razor, I prefer a lighter weights. Nice shave Mark.
  • Top of the morning to the Shave Dog (George) 😂😂Another great video as always 👍✌️
  • @Blue_3rd
I use my R41 for a first pass on 3 or more days’ growth and it is very efficient. For subsequent passes or daily shaves I use the R89 plate. This combo works well for me although I am looking for an adjustable to cover all options.
  • @OhioShaves
Great content. Enjoyed the video Mark :goodvibes: The R41 scares me. A tough one for a face shave.
  • @IvanKaz1
Hi Mark. Great review. I could tell that you were really concentrating on the shave(similar to your r102 review). Any time the razor was touching your face, you didn't say a word. It's definitely not a razor you would use on auto pilot. I look forward to your thoughts as you continue to test this razor. I'm glad to see you get good use out of it.
  • Nice shave Mark. Ordering the stary bowl after I pay off my Christmas bills. I will have to try the Prickly Pear ATG Preshave Soap on my next PAA order. The Muhle R41 is too much for me. I will stick with my Rockwell 6S. Merry Christmas.
