Hello and welcome back to my channel. I am Gil Scott-Heron’s daughter Gia Scott-Heron, and this is my first installment of Black History Mysteries which I definitely wanted to begin on 2/22/22, a day of manifestation, and there are many things that I plan to bring to fruition on this channel.

The name of the author of this poem entitled “We Wear the Mask” is Paul Laurence Dunbar born In Dayton Ohio (1872-1906). Though he only lived until his early thirties , this dynamic poet was versatile, and capable of writing both breathtaking sonnets, and dialectic poems. Langston Hughes listed him as one if his biggest Influences, and he is one of my favorite poets as well.
