    I never understood the evaluation of people done by society. It wasn't until my late 20s that I even realized how superficial the world actually is. It seems that the modern narcissistic culture is to find someone to get into huge debt to create a false image of wealth and then when the credit runs out, just go and find someone else. This is common for women but I also know men that do this to women. The guy usually lures the woman in with good looks and a flashy persona (nice cell phone/car that his previous girlfriend probably paid for). Being financially responsible is considered low status/low value.
