Rolan Bolan's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Acceptance Speech on Behalf of T. Rex | 2020 Induction

so happy T. Rex made it in.

Long overdue. Marc has been gone for 43 years now and his son's acceptance speech was lovely to hear but also very sad because he didn't know his dad. His stories of seeing his father in music videos or Slash (who for years has been credited with his iconic look even though it was taken from Bolan) wearing his dad on his shirt, was how he kept or got connected to his father's music. Bolan had such a huge and overlooked impact on music. He was the godfather of glam. He had a major influence on punk. There would be no Bowie/Ziggy without Bolan. Glad they had old clips of Bowie talking about that.

yeeeees!!!! It was about time that T.Rex got the recognition that they deserve but, better late than never. anyway, time to cry my dudes.

I'm not crying, you're crying! Marc was my hero when I was a teenager. Always hoped that this would happen someday!

I will always remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard that Marc had died. T-Rex was was my favorite rock group and I was lucky enough to see them in concert. Thanks for that tribute to your awesome dad, Rolan! Rock on!

Rolan, I'm 62 now and your father has been the single biggest influence on my life. His influence is getting stronger and stronger and the music still sounds so good. Slider is my all time fav album by anyone.
