I am so thirsty to learn more and more, and with each podcast I listen to, I watch how my hunger for God's things grows. I'm really happy because everything you say makes sense to me, and I feel like I'm maturing lot faster than ever before. I felt led by God at the beginning of the year to advance from the basics to maturity, but I didn't know how, and when I was listening to John, in the wilderness course, speaking from 1 Peter 4:1, He who suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, and that implies He has reached maturity. I realised what I needed to do. I began praying, asking God to transform my desires and to instill in me a hunger for Him and His Kingdom, and I am so glad and amazed to realise that God does indeed give me power over the body, and I no longer have an appetite for certain things that used to overpower me. Thank you very much, John and Lisa, for your podcasts, courses, and books; they are treasures that fill my spirit.❤

The most wonderful thing is happening to my wife and me. We've come a long way (44 years of amazing marriage while clinging to Jesus; 60 years of chronic, hemiplegic migraines; CPTSD; unemployment; family and church splits, etc.) and now we can both honestly stand here and say that the Word of God is so much "fun." We love "doing" it, and truly experiencing God backing it up. His faithfulness is so amazing. Applied Christianity is so real. Thank you, Beveres, for your books and teachings. My wife and I are both being delivered from "offense' and it is such a huge deliverance for us. Life with Jesus really does bring times of refreshing (Acts 3:19) if we'll simply memorize and "do" His Word. God bless you and your family. Romans 8:28; Ephesians 5:20; 2 Corinthians 10:4-5; 2 Corinthians 12:10

This helped with a personal revelation, God was trying to break through. I was spiritually starving, because of treating The Lord like my earthly father. An angry man, with addiction issues. So I learned to disappear and not be noticed. Because being noticed could lead to domestic violence, as my mother stepped in to protect me. It broke my heart to see her broken. So when it came to my prayers with God, I was trying not to trigger God. I don't look forward to His word, because it means coming into his presence. Where my neurological pathway built a stronghold of survival, to avoid a father's authority like that. Which brought me into His presence with the wrong kind of fear. So God kept His distance. Hence the starvation. He wanted to feed me, but my blindness could only feed the enemy's seed instead. So this message helped God break through, so we can get closer the way he intended. Thank you.
  • 7:23 Maintaining spiritual hunger: 1. You need connection with Him. Instead of just reading the Bible as any other book, try interacting with the Holy Spirit when you read. 10:24 - Talking with God as I am reading. - Before reading, pray "Holy Spirit, please reveal Jesus to me in a way like I've never known before. Open my eyes and make the Word alive in my life." - Never stop to wander, ponder, and have excitement to read the Bible. - Find someone to study, read, and then discuss the Bible with. - Imagine you are reading with the author and allow the Holy Spirit to explain things to you. - If you just read you get information, but not TRANSFORMATION. - Ask God to reveal and expose to you the things that are keeping you from a desire to read the Word of God (Entertainment, social media, unnecessary drama, not having an atmosphere that has sacred space, etc) 2. The less I read the Bible, the less I want to read the Bible. The less you feed your spirit, the quieter it becomes.

This is so true. When I was watching TV I tried everyday not to sit infront of the tv for 3 hours but then I gave it up for this whole month and I actually want to read the bible and worship way more than I want to watch TV.

I think God is teaching me something about myself through Lisa’s multiple abrupt interruptions 😬😬. I love her insight, revelation, voice and authority. Sometimes, however, the flow of what John says sometimes gets chopped off by her inserts and it becomes hard to follow and not seamless. Never does John react negatively 😅. His patience/love for her is evident. Praise God for this couple!!!

I did what i call a kingdom fast where I cut out everything not focused on the kingdom for the month of april. It made me so hungry for him. And I still am hungry for months later I did not pick up most of these things it has become a lifestyle change.
  • "I love your discipline and I celebrate your lack of donuts!" -Liz Hahahahah. I love that line. Spiritually speaking it is true in a sense. When we discipline ourselves with good stuff, practices, food, spiritual food, we started to lack of unhealthy things. Hhehehehe

This week I'm trying to keep from watching TV and being on social media. I hope that it helps to create a new habit.
  • Definitely God's timing on this podcast. Although I accepted Christ about 24 yrs ago, I need to back to my 1st love. So much of what u shared was point on. But when John mentioned God at the table at 6am, God gave me a visual of Father,Son, & Holy Spirit sitting there just quietly waiting 4 me to verbally speak with them. Thank u both so much & God bless!!!

I agree with y’all, I was raised Baptist and I never knew the Holy Spirit, never had one sermon, until I was 40 years old… he came… at a conference, then I studied about the Holy Spirit everyday for 3 years with kids and a job, Changed me Forever … I’m 47 now, and I don’t go a Day without saying, Holy Spirit , I’m so thankful for YOU, I will never Never forget YOU!!! ❤amen .. and everyday, I still study something from the Bible .. so I think the introduction of the Spirit of God was what I was lacking my whole life… he will guide you and show you and he will even give you shooting stars on demand lol ❤and strange blessings that you know when you know came from Him… ❤he is the Spirit of the Lord Jesus .. he is the Kingdom within! ❤
  • Dear John and Lisa, thank you for being being the Godfather and Godmother of YouTube 😂❤ This teaching truly blessed me with some new insights and revelation. Thank you for all you do for the kingdom. God bless you 🙏🏽 - KB
  • 0:01 If we’re not hungry for God or for spiritual things, it may simply be because we are sick (maybe medically) and need help.
  • @carlreed7773
John and Lisa my God bless you both. I’m trusting God that my wife and I would hunger and thirst for the Word and Presence of Jesus Christ
  • @megaliosit
My favorite teachers and couples. Thank you for always teaching with so much practicality, simplicity, and clarity. Grace to you
  • Thank you for those nuggets of wisdom…the more you read scripture, the more you want to read it. You’ve also said on another podcast, to first ask God to give you a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit then to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus in a way like you’ve never seen before. I still do that and it helps so much! Some of us don’t know what to ask🤷🏻‍♀️Thank you! And thank you Lisa for asking John ‘how’ do you do this or that. Many people will tell you ‘what’ to do but not many will tell you ‘HOW’🤷🏻‍♀️

I came to know about Pastor John ,through a book he wrote called "Killing Kryptonite "..I finished the whole book and re-read it again ..That book alone made me realize that I really was settling for less than what God called me to be ..And yes I started following him on YouTube eversince and mahn I gotta say; I have so much love ,respect and honor for God's grace that's bestowed upon the man of God and his family ..This clip for me is an eye opener and it's almost like a whole story book that's titled 'Are You Spiritually Starving ?' Summarised ..I believe the Holy Spirit led me here because He wanted me to hear this ..and I'm so blessed to have heard this message ..May God continue to bless you and your ministry ❤
  • Just found your channel! The Lord knew exactly what I needed to hear! This video has answered questions I've asked myself for weeks! Thank you Jesus! He is so faithful 🙏✝️🕊
