  • 5 seconds of continued stationary wheel spin is natures way of saying you are about to break something... I quote: "Unlike some of its competitors in this segment, the MU-X doesn't feature a rear differential lock. Isuzu says that its inbuilt traction control systems manage wheel-slip effectively enough..." Izuzu - I beg to differ :-) Awesome attitude from your old man though. Pragmatic and seeing the positives of the learning experience. Kudos to him.

Mate! I've just got to say, that was one of the best 4WD videos I've ever watched! The way you both kept your cool, and just kept plugging your way back up those hills was a breath of fresh air to me. A lot of blokes would have spat the dummy, and or, gone to get someone to get them out of trouble, but your attitude and resolve was enough. I'm 60, and only just starting out 4wding, and like you dad, can accept the fact that I'll probably scratch, scrape, bend and break a few things along the way. But the rewards are worth it. My first trip was just up to Mt Allyn lookout with a short look down a side track which was fun, but as it got rougher I turned back for saftey reasons (only one vehicle), but it gave me a taste for more. Excellent editeding on the video, particularly the voice overs giving an explanation of what or why you did certain things. Another thing that your video has confirmed for me, is that my desire for a winch is well justified. Keep up the great videos mate, and thankyou.

Man what an adventure! Awesome memories with your dad and your son!
  • Another great video mate.. thanks for putting them together and sharing with us, and not just the happy, fluffy times but also the serious challenges like this one. Agree with your appraisal of the situation. Dad pushed too hard for too long and that was it.. Really well done getting out. Goes to show why it's important to have the right gear.
  • Absolute courage Especially to keep the film rolling giving us a front row view the old boy took it great as a learning curve and carried on with faith 👌🏼great team fathers and sons

Sometimes in situations like you faced with your Dad, you have to do what it takes to get you all out safely. I had a similar situation with one of our five vehicles blowing a CV joint and we had to contend with rain coming in and making the clay tracks so slippery and some seriously steep and off camber sections and deep ruts. We had to do multiple vehicle snatch/tows with up to four snatch straps connected to get him out and a bit of winching (but not as much as you guys had). It certainly was physically and mentally taxing and took several hours before we got him back to camp. Two of our TD42 Patrols had twin lockers (one of which was mine) and we still struggled for traction in the slippery clay. They are useful items but they aren't the be and end all when track condition dictate otherwise. Really enjoy your vids Tyler. Keep up the good work 👍
  • @fourocker
Great job with that epic boys, I really like how you all manage to look out for each other and the little fella while still filming, family having an adventure together, very impressed and subbed.
  • @rhompsta
The joys of wheeling mate. Not all sunshine and lollypops! Great episode and great job on the recoveries. Hope the old mans diff is sorted and back on the tracks.
  • @dannyrexknight
Great vid thanks. It's so nice to see someone not on 37's for a change! Well done. Love the Nav too.
  • @MrMrdazzab
Very impressed that you were able to keep filming through a time of stress. Well done.
  • @tyik
What a great experience in recovery process. Well done mate. Thanks for sharing.
  • Great episode mate, it only natural that you will continue to look for more challenging tracks ect, breakages will happen, everyone goes through the same. I am impressed with how you and your dad handled it. Keep them coming.

Hey Tyler, After my son & I watched your video we decided to give Bullridge a go ourselves yesterday (bottom to top). Now that we've done it & re-watched your video I now realise how luck we were to get through. The track looks like it's gotten even worse from when you were there and there was more than one section where we struggled to stand or walk! Anyway we had a ball and that's the main thing, we were glad to see the end of the trail however. Cheers & keep up the good work.
  • Really love how you always mention what track you are on and the routes you are taking. It makes it easy to determine if it's a track we could do with our given setups and what to expect. This is very valuable info, surprised your channel has not blown up yet... but given a bit more time im sure it will. New subscriber here.
